  1. This line up needs some Russians and Finns. Treliving needs to get busy with trades, not just sign free agents. Domi, Kampf, Jarnkrok, should go, along with Rielly, that's 14 million, on top of the 22 million from JT and Marner leaving. That's 36 million to reshape the roster.

  2. Not going to lie! I hate clean-shaven Hot Take Hockey for a couple of reasons: One it means his Leafs are done and Two it makes me feel old! Lets not put too much pressure on these young kids like Cowan!

  3. No to almost all of them. The san Jose one is about the only one that's close. If I'm Buffalo I'm not trading Tuch, a guy who scored 31 goals this year and had 79 points two years ago for Carlo. If I'm Calgary, I'm not trading Andersson for a bag of doughnuts. If I'm Anaheim I'm not trading two good players with a high upside for Nylander. If I'm Vancouver I'm not parting with the physicality of Sherwood or Pettersen, whose value is still high for an aging Morgan Rielly. If I'm the Kings I'd pass on losing two good young players in Clarke and Byfield, and a team cornerstone like Kempe for Matthews. I know Matthews is an elite goal scorer, but if they make that trade, they suddenly look like a team that would be very old in two years.

  4. How about Willy for Byram if he agrees to sign long term plus Alex Tuch, might be hard to ask Willy to go there.Would also need to move Rielly for sure.(Might need to be a 3 team deal)
Matthews for Byfield and Foegle plus a 1st or other adds, love the Newmarket and Unionville locals here!

  5. I don't mind some of the players you're looking at getting. I just don't think any of those teams, make those deals.

Also, I'm not trying to ruffle feathers here, but imho, Matthews is part of the problem. The entire "core four", are far, far too soft.

Personally, I think you blow it up. Entirely. That includes management. The fact Shanahan wasn't instantly fired the next morning, is troubling enough already.

It sucks to think about a full reset, ya, but this team, with that leadership, isn't going anywhere, and in the long run, it's going to be even more miserable, than resetting properly. 🤷‍♂

  6. Maybe take out the 2 cap dumps in the CGY trade and they might think about it.
Kampf and Benning have negative value.

  7. Canucks don't want Leafs garbage lmao especially when they have a solid young defencemen.

    Hughes – DPetey / Myers
    Marcus Pettersson- Hronek
    Forbort / Mancini / DPetey – Willander / Mancini

puke on Reilly tell me you know nothing about Knee Tendonitis. Just look up how CMC (one of the NFL's premiere running backs if not top 2) performed last year with the exact same injury EP had. Baffling how people don't actually think that injury did not affect his play.

That's a blatent let's do everything to improve the Leafs without doing much to improve the Canucks in any way. Morgan is le garbage.

  8. 1. I don’t think San Jose would be very interested in the first trade, even with Robertson

    2. I really like the idea for the Buffalo trade for both sides

    3. I don’t like the Calgary trade from the Flames side, 28 1st is just too far out for them

    4. Ducks pass imo, they could easily just sign Marner for that and keep their good young guys

    5. I would stay away from Pettersson at all costs. Vancouver would have to pay me to take that contract

    6. I know it’s a Hot Take but I don’t see it. However I do like it

  9. Only trades being made should be for proven playoff performers with toughness and grit and heart. Same with any free agent signings. Not going to win anything with a bunch of pretty boy floaters.

  10. 1.San Jose is rebuilding. Eklund is an NHL player with one year ledt on an $867,00-0 contract. Jarnkrok is 33 makes 2,1 million and hasnt been healthy in two years. He has zero trade value. Maybe McMann and Cowan for Eklund on his own?
Kampf has negative trade value. Nobody wants those guys.
2.They are not giving you Alex Tuch for washed up Carlo and OEL.
    3. Rasmus anderson is a rock of a #1 NHL defenseman They would want the equivalent of william Nylander for him . Not three failed picks and a number one pick. They are going to retain salary? Danford may not make the NHL Kampf has negative trade value. Robertson Sigh. The Flames would want Alex Tuch for Andersson.
Yes you could probably get Blake Coleman for a first round pick and one of these failed prospects That is actually possible.
    4. Nylander has a NMC. He's not going. Reaves and Kampf would have double negative trade value To get them taken you would have to throw in a first Lacombe is the #1 Dman in Anaheim right now. Jarnkrok has zero trade value.
    5. Rielly has a NMC
    6. Auston Matthews has a no move clause. You can't trade him . Jarnkrok benning, robertson and kampf have no value in a trade.. danault and Brandt Clark? ..You only ,make that trade if you believe matthews has an injury that limits him to 30 goal 70 points. People won't take matthews if he cant pass a physical.
Oh Byfield and Kempe too. No No No No
Part of the problem is this belief that he is a top ten NHL player.

  11. Leafs shouldn't be trading Danford or Cowan…it's all they have left in the cupboard.
    Trade existing players.
How about Marners rights, Matthews and Reilly to Utah for Keller,Crouse,Guenther and Sergachev….more pieces to add but make a blockbuster and start with a new core.

  12. I like where the Ducks are going with their young players. I would rather see how the team keeps growing than trade away so much of that young core.

  13. Do not trade picks Robertson or Cowan. Trade Jarnkrok Kampf and Rielly for late picks 5th rders . Use FA properly and acquire picks

  14. Rielly has to go we can't have that cap until 2030 !! Jarnkrok 2.1+ Kampf 2.7+ Rielly 7.1 +Benning 1.3 +Reaves +1.3 =14.5 mill plus Hakanpaa

  15. I have been saying that I see Matthews going to LA for a couple of years now. Also, a McDavid vs Matthews first round would be GREAT tv. I just don't see this deal happening from either side. Leafs want to give Matthews a second year as Captain to see how that goes and LA wouldn't give up that much for him, especially with the question marks around his health. Maybe end of next year when Kopitar and Kempe become UFAs

  16. None of these trades make sense. This has been the best defense in 10 years for the leafs.

    My views.

    1. JT should be resigned. 5mil max. 3 year deal.
    2. If anyone get traded it should be cowan or danford and if both it needs to be signicant.
    3. I do like the idea of and Anderson and a tuch so I will use these kinda players for an example.

Cowan and a 2nd for tuch. Pretty straight foward. Not sure of tuch and knies fit for matthwes…but we will get their.
Danford kampf jankrook and a 2nd for Anderson retained.

Now I would get those top 6 or top 9 fowards to see if they can play with mstthwrs if tuch is more of a mid 6… yea willy can play with matthwes but let's just go with it….

    Roslovic,Saad,Beauliver,

Like let's be honest. The leafs vest player was patches. He scoring the big goals. He on the top 6. And he played well overall. This mean you kinda just need bodies that can play. Not "the best player ".

Looking at it I see the Anderson trade is not a pin mover. Tuch yes. So this means I prob be giving up danford. Cowan can play a bottom 6 role and replace Kampf.

I feel like Robertson and jankrook need to go as you package them on that tuch deal with danford and you don't even need to put in a pick… like Simon Benoit can play. Oel is Oel and idk but Morgan reilley is a top 2. Maybe not a 1 but a #2 for sure. This being said maybe to sign a Ceci. So here is what I got.

    Knies Matthews Roslovic
    Domi Tavres Willy
    McMann Cowan Tuch
    Holmberg laughton lorentz

    Current d core

    Current goalies.

I'm sure they have cap so I guess you can add a piece or maybe 2 but look how manageable this lineup is and it still has cap.

  17. Wild fan here. I'm hoping a few trades happen for the Wild. If the Wild can acquire a Tage Thompsin to play 1c and possibly sign a Bennett, not Nelson. Would you trade a trade involving an Ek for Knies move? Yes, Wild need to add. But re-signing Marner and having the Matthew/Marner line. Ek and maybe a Foligno/Hartman. Tavares/Nylander as the start of your Top 9. Would that be worth giving up Knies? I think the Wild need to make bold moves like Florida did a few years ago.

  18. Every player that goes to the Leafs is over hyped. and when they don't live up to their expectations then they are crucified…

  19. I dont like the la trade for the kings. I think byfield will be a playoff difference maker and so far matthews hasn’t proved he will. I really think Clark is going to be a big player. I think la has a better chance with what they got. It’s is fun to think of blockbusters like this tho
