Great job nick ,info us leaf fans. It was the right move Shanahan had too go ,no advancing in the the playoffs ,every year these players are paid well too lead and advance ,but they always choke. So pathetic and very embarrassing
Shanny's contract was to expire next month.
Shanahan destroyed the Leafs when he fired Babcock and hired Dubas…….Marner should have been shipped out of town and Babcock would have brought us a couple cups. Babcock knew Marner was a problem 6 years ago.
The Leafs live rent free in a lot of people's minds. Dubas and Shanahan both find new roles fast. hahahaha

Clearly the organization let Shanahan have his own way, and the leafs did have limited success (making the playoffs every year) but not making it passed the second round is just not good enough and really, change may help or might not, but sitting on your hands and doing nothing would be really dumb. A new leadership group may be be good for the team (might not be either, choose the new bigwigs with great care!}
In the past decade the Leafs have changed coaches twice, their GM and now the President. They have changed EVERYTHING else, its time to hold the players accountable.

Remember when an NHL owner got involved with a team? I do. It was Jeremy Jacob’s. He destroyed the Bruins long term. Pelley is not a hockey man so be very careful what you wish for. The Leafs could end up worse off.

The Leafs are one hire a way from a disaster or a championship. I didn't think they need to change anything. They had a great season this year even though they didn't go all the way. They get rid of the core 4 and they're just arming other rival teams. But this is Toronto overeacting..
Doesn’t matter if Shanahan is out, won’t change anything. The players themselves are the problem, you have a group of guys who don’t care how they play. Just look over the years of coaching changes, GM changes, President changes, roster changes and the leafs play the same way and still can’t get far in the playoffs. So who is to blame for the leafs failure, it’s the players, a bunch of overpaid, overrated players who crack under pressure and they blame the fans for the pressure they put on them.

Give Treeliving more authority! He's done a good job. He tried to trade Marner, He tried to sign Marner. It's not Brads fault for Marner situation, blame Shanny and Dubass for that mess and Marner's agent!
Shanahan wasn't fired. His contract runs out in June and he won't be resigned. Get it right.
