Sheldon Sourey 2.0 but IMO Logan is not better than Sourey
Mailloux is young and is still learning. He will be an asset for the Habs. He has the size which the Habs desperately needs. He will be a member of the “4 Clydales” version 2.
Needs to work on his defensive development, but there is a lot of potential with him. Definitely keep him on the roster
Mailoux stays with Habs!
Great show, loved it!
Mailloux and Reinbacher need to stay. If the Habs can’t sign a free agent 2nd line center, they have many prospects and picks to trade, and who knows! Maybe Dach will surprise us all next season
I keep him
It's a tough call- he's having a good playoff so far. Will be very hard for Montreal to add 2 new young Dmen on the roster without taking a step back next season…You'd imagine they want to bring in another experienced right shot to replace Savard…If I had to choose between Mailloux and Reinbacher…I'm taking #64. They would need to replace Mailloux's size though- Carrier is small.
Thanks Coach…love these updates…appreciate all your hard work and dedication

The value of Mailloux will increase exponentially in the next 3 years, coach. Then it's going to keep going up until it peaks.
Right now, he is super-underrated, and the 2025 draft picks keep going up as we get closer and closer to the draft.
For example, we would have to give Mailloux, 17th 2025 (1st-rd) and 81th 2025 (3rd-rd) for a guy like Crosby, but it's not going to happen.
Mailloux is seen as a B+ prospect by most GMs, and they would want us to believe he's just B/B- just to low ball us.
Some GMs still see him as a A/A- prospect. Kent Hughes knows Mailloux's an A.
His p/gp went down from 0.58 to 0.52 but his g/gp went up. He's got a good shot.
For comparison, Joshua Roy is a B prospect, and Heineman is A-.
Last summer, I had Roy as a A+ (I thought he would be a top 6), and I had Heineman as a A-/B+ and predicted that he'd make the team.
Some GMs might see Heineman as a straight A, but no GM sees Joshua Roy as A anymore.
Heineman's wrist shot + his ability to play and skate north to south puts him way ahead of Joshua Roy.
The value of Joshua Roy dropped because his hockey style and his size demands of him to have more vision, more hockey-IQ, more talent.
Joshua Roy is the type of player who needs to spend all summer improving his speed and hockey sense. (and his shot while he's at it.)
He needs to want it more than others, because he is at an disadvantage with his size so he needs to make his weakness his strength.
Heineman will make the team again, so Roy is competing against Beck, Kapanen, and Florian Xhekaj (three guys who aren't 100% ready).
Roy is ahead of these three in experience, so if he improves during the summer, he could shock everyone in August/September at the camp.
Otherwise, they will catch up to Roy.
If Beck works hard this summer, all next AHL season and the next summer, then he'll make the team in 2026-27.
It's going to take minimum the same time for Florian, and as for Kapanen, I am not sure.
Next season will be Kapanen's true 1st season in the AHL. He is supposed to be a scorer, so he needs to score.
It was a mistake to try him in the playoffs in my opinion, if they wanted to win, Pezzetta would have brought more grit.
UNLESS<<>> they are 100% sure that Kapanen will be a NHL player, because other than giving him some exp, it was a bad move.
Reinbacher is a A/A+ prospect, and some GMs see him A+, A or A-.
I'd like for both Reinbacher and Mailloux to make the team but odds are only 1 will make it.
We need both to make it. We don't want Reinbacher spending too much time down there in the AHL.
The same goes for Mailloux. I think Mailloux will progress faster in the NHL.
The following are Ds from his 2021 draft.
Luke Hughes, Simon Edvinsson, Brandt Clarke, Nolan Allan, Olen Zellweger, Ryker Evans, JJ Moser, Emil Lilleberg.
Mailloux would have more goals than most of them if he played as many games.
Are they really that better than him, or isn't he not making the team because of circumstances of chairs?
They're both ready. Put them in coach!!!
