It is just the first game, i think it's time to panic if the Panthers pick up both games in carolina comfortably. One thing the Canes seemed to do well, is bring a physicality and aggressive forecheck that the Panthers didn't seem comfortable with. They spent long stretches in the Panthers' zone, and the Panthers needed Bob to be at his best to bail them out a few times.
They definitely shouldn't remove the kicking motion rule. I don't even care about the player safety aspect. It's just that players are going to stop trying to score normal goals. They'll sit backdoor near the side of the net and just cross-check people while waiting to kick pucks in. It would make the game too cheesy. Players won't go for one-timers or tap-ins in tight, they'll just stick-battle and kick the puck in. Lame.
You should watch the damn games before you comment on them. Don't just look at the scoreboard and try to make a video based on it. Carolina played fantastic this game. Do not compare them to the crumbling leafs. Carolina did not give up, and they did not play poorly at all. They got just as many good scoring chances as Florida.
Why would Ghost intentionally shoot it off Marchand and give away the possession?? In all likelihood it bounces off Marchand and back into the Canes zone creating an attacking chance for them. Ghostibhere has 1 fight in a nearly 10 year career, he’s not an emotional player. National media has convinced people that he did this on purpose and it’s a damn shame.
Most consecutive losses in conference final stat is one of THE Most Overrated stats. There's a few large factors involved in that….. just the distance between seasons and how the Franchise's have changed…. You're digging.

Scott Morrow, a rookie dman playing in his first NHL playoff game, was -3 on the day AND took a penalty that the Panthers capitalized on. That's one player on the ice or contributing to 4 goals against. If Jalen Chatfield isn't injured, that doesn't happen. If Alexander Nikishin plays instead of Morrow, that probably doesn't happen. I doubt Morrow will start again unless we have more injuries to the d-core.

Ekblad intentionally elbowed a player in the head AGAIN after the Canes scored their late PPG and it wasn't even a minor. Could have easily been a 5 minute major and, while I'm not saying it WOULD have made a difference, you never know what could have happened with almost 4 minutes of 6-on-4 hockey.
Since I know someone is going to bring it up: "What about Svechnikov hitting Bob in the head? That no call went in the Canes' favor." Well, Timo Meier hit Andersen in the head round one. No call. Bennett hit Stolarz in the head round two. No call. The league has basically shown that they aren't going to do anything about it unless it's beyond egregious and Florida already got a beneficial no call from something similar last series.
If Toronto wasnt playing with boston and florida all the time they would have been in round 3 long time ago, hurricanes might be worse team but they have easier opposition

AND THAT IS WHAT YOU DO IN GAME 7?!?! even if they lost game five 3-2 or something it would be HORRIBLE… but to get beat 12-2 in BACK TO BACK HOME GAMES — like this is why you tried so hard to win the division!!!! and then you do THAT … TWICE!!!! …. like that's just abysmal to an inconceivable level
told myself 2 years ago I was done with TML and would only watch once they got into round 2. I did just that. now im just totally done, this team is beyond redemption. such a shame because if they got rid of marner and Matthews was a playoff performer, this TML team could have been in the 2000's history beside teams like tampa, Chicago, Pittsburg, etc,… I mean forget shitty leafs fans, just imagine how amazing that would have been for hockey in general. Matthews lighting it up consistently in deep playoff runs, the type of goals he can score and the things HOCKEY FANS would get to witness.
