  1. Leafs loosing stoly was the series changer plain and simple cause leafs never looked the same cant blame florida they couldnt score on him so only way they could beat them was take stoly out which hearin stoly comment confirms that by him sayin that head hit concussed him not the puck to the head

  2. No one can fault Marner for exercising his NMC … but I haven't forgiven him for the clownshow hypocritical nonsense he and his agent (and his dad) rolled out in his RFA contract negotiations.

It's the opposite for me from your take in this vid … I have loved him on the ice (I wish we won more but hockey is voodoo) … it's the off-ice behaviour that I think is transparently fake and insincere garbage.

  3. Nylander isn't going to like not having Marner on the team. He might actually get called out for not playing D at all and Toronto will need a new whipping boy to run out of town.

  4. Paul Maurice always says his players are good at not cheating the game. In other words, they stick to the structure, they stick to the dump-ins, they stick to the defense before offense and ignoring the temptation to make "highlight reel goals." If you have a team buy-in from training camp, the winning structure becomes muscle memory.

  5. steve wants 49 game series so that the leafs finally have a chance. that's what i took away from this video.

  6. I think whoever doesn't sign back with the leafs will probably go on to be more successful with whichever team they play for.

  7. As for the captain, look at Detroit Larkin. Detroit fans were ready to give him the C the moment after Zetterberg left. Instead, Detroit and Yzerman (Nicknamed "The Captain" for a reason) said he wasn't ready and opted to go without a Captain at all for 3 years. This was to allow Larkin to mature and grow into the role and learn what it really means. But when a player gets the C, they have to be ready right then and there, you don't grow into being a leader because you now wear the C. You have to be a leader long before that so then when you do get the C, you're not trying to change yourself to fit the role.
Giving Mathews the C and then saying he got better at being Captain as the year went on tells me he wasn't ready at go. So bad move Leafs IMO. Plus, they gave him the C after stripping it from Tavares. It's very rare for any team to strip the C away from a player while that player is still on the team. This can also damage Tavares' mental state, not to mention the rest of the team that still see's him daily knowing he was demoted sort of speak. The better option IMO was to let Tavares wear the C till his contract expires and let him walk. But also tell Mathews that they are looking at him to take over and start playing more of a captain role with the team so that when Tavares leaves, he's ready.

  8. I love when people talk up Nylander and his response to game 7 makes it perfectly clear… he doesn't actually care. That's not a thing someone who actually cares says.

  9. At the 9:00 mark. I actually Steve is wrong here. That is EXACTLY the kind of market Toronto is. Marner's address was doxxed online. When players were walking back to the dressing room at the end of game several fans were accosting them and swearing at them. Marner's family has been harassed by fans. Let me ask the question. Would that happen in Tampa? Don't say it's not the market.

  10. Key Florida players suggested the reason the leafs keep losing is City if Toronto and their fans. Too much pressure. I think if we see the history if the Leafs, this is right. The fans are too desperate.

  11. no JT can go and we will have more money to play with. so there is some poison on this team, all new players to help Mitch and Matthews and nope it didnt work! SO who is it? Im done with REILLY JT MITCH AND GO HOME BERG I mean what does he even DO? and we can only guess what the issue IS and we have to pray to god it is NOT matthews otherwise we are cooked. Nylander shows up in all playoff games that HE has been apart of. I think AM example of a capt was the worst = JT was a terrible capt and sadly AM is following his foot steps, monotone voice NO passion NO passion on the bench, just sits and spits and not a peep to his team mates. Leaves the ice with all of the players no effort to say stay and tap each player or SOMETHING ? JT did the same. So Nope I dont think AM was the right choice IMO. To say that the panthers were hungrier IN A GAME SEVEN was just stupidity from him and not thinking how can they be hungrier? WHY was HIS team not hungry to win? makes no sense and he knows it and has to be one of the worst things HE HAS SAID at the end of this season. What WOULD make them HUNGRIER THEN? I mean come on, Lame! and then the nerve of passengers ? the nerve of him ! WOW ! GM did great IMO I love our defense and goalies got in extra players for Matthews and mitch and again NOthing! ? what are we suppose to think We had ryan o'reilly ffs and Nothing I wont name them all but they came and went and still ? we played poorly again !! Fans wouldnt be pissed if it was say a 4-3 loss or tie in third to overtime and lost! some sorta EFFORT to win was not there, WHY? is the ? Cheers all

  12. Please just stop with what fans should do or not do when they are fed up with the teams wasting their money year after year either by front office or players. Don't get me wrong there is a proper time to display your emotions and that's not durning the play of the game . But to say fans are welcomed to throw their hats on the ice after a hat trick to show their emotions for a good performances is welcomed, but not throw a jersey when their preforming is literally one of the worse in the sport is a double standard which disrespects the fans.

  13. You need to talk to the guys that were brought in from outside the organization to figure out what is wrong with this team. You've got 2 guys who won the cup last year. What's different? You had Ryan O'Reilly who left a toxic org in Buffalo and won a cup with Berube. You had Schenn who won with Tampa. You need to grab these guys and ask them what the differences in locker rooms are. I don't think this problem can be figured out from within.

  14. berube is getting a lot of the blame but i think the leafs through 2 games of round 2 were the best team. i had them as favorites. that was even with their backup goalie. but if they threaten 4-5 goals a game i think obviously its the best team in the league.

  15. Last year it was the Woll injury that caused the Leafs to lose in Game 7 – this year Woll was good in Game 7 but it was the Stolarz injury that caused them to lose. Make up your minds!! Leafs are just bad and now that you have 2 injury-prone goalies it will get even worse. Stolarz never started a playoff game before this year and is getting older so will get worse.

  16. Leafs should have played hard ball with Marner in the fall. Out on the 3rd line and bench him a few times then you will see him waive his no trade clause. Now you are getting nothing.

  17. Yeah like Knies wouldn’t sign an offersheet… Sure he wants to be there but come on like he wants to set his future and the Leafs could not be more important lol

  18. We put all this s### on Marner.

When you are a playmaker and the go-to scorer isn't at 100% and not scoring, the playmaker is going to look useless. Especially when the other winger is not at 100% either.

Knies recorded 0 hits in game 7… can you imagine that?

I do believe Marner was concussed after the Kulikov elbow… his knees buckled.

Tavaras and Nylander just didn't look right. Was there something else going on with the whole team, like food poisoning or flu? There were far too many occurrences of throwing the puck away with no Panthers in sight. They were mentally and physically off.

Credit the Panthers for well-executed coverage.

  19. F__k the Toronto Maple Syrups.. The city should put the leaf's in a big garbage bag and sell them…..fix the f__ked up roads..

  20. Class act Steve… as a hockey fan, I appreciate your fandom.
As an outsider, I think this was your best constructed team and the one that would have gone the distance. Every team needs a goalie that can stand on his head to bail you out when "structure" breaks down. You didn't have one… few teams do.
    Hockey is a cruel mistress.

  21. Rantanen dodged a big bullet!… imagine him going to this clowns – everyone would have said: "it was because of McKinnon!". Instead he chosed wisely and probably he will play a few finals…
