Take Tavares before Marner. The one thing the core 4 there don't have are 'balls'!! No grit whatsoever..nobody is afraid of those guys and you need some sandpaper to go places in the playoffs. Always have.

Aside from this, maybe these two should look into who Tocchett has played with and coach both as a head and an assistant. Tocchett played with Gretzky and Rob Blake in LA. Tocchet played with Mario, Jagr, Ron Francis, Paul Coffey, Mark Recchi and Larry Murphy in Pittsburgh. He played with Jeremy Roenick, Keith Tkuchuk and Danny Briere in Phoenix. He played with Peter Bondra in Washington. He played Adam Oates and Ray Bourque in Boston. He played with Eric Lindros, John LeClair, Keith Primeau, Eric Desjardins and Mark Howe with the Flyers. As an assistant coached Crosby and Malkin. Sakic, Forsberg and Foote. As a head coach, coached LeCavalier, St Louis and Stamkos.l in Tampa. Elias Pettersson and Quinn Hughes in Vancouver. If coaching names were on a resume, I’d say Tocchet knows everybody! The who’s who of hockey.

The leafs core 4 is garbage and no, we don't want any of them.
Saying Pittsburgh is a better hockey town than us is crazy. The only reason they like hockey more than us right now is because they have Crosby and Malkin. Wait until they've sucked for 5 years again and are debating where to move the franchise. We've sucked for a while, and we're not moving the team anywhere.
Bennet can play second line center
i like the hire, but Tocc will need a C and different goalie pairing , So DB said its time to add, so Center and goalie is needed asap. Better communication between coach and player will be a plus. DB better have a good plan for draft day. Lets Go Flyers
