NOT a big hockey fan. I do, however, watch the cup playoffs AND I like to watch the non-major leagues play once in a while. Kids are great to watch. It's all fun for them, not business. Well, the Toronto Maple Leaf players must think it is all fun to cause they certainly are not playing for the money they're being paid. I mean, what a let down for the fans and a shameful thing for the players themselves. HOW any of them can happily sign an autograph without lowering their heads in shame SHOWs exactly how much they care. I got paid, that's what they care about. Or, seemingly so. I'd be willing to BET $100.00 that their farm teams can go further than they go every year. Tell the farm team, bring us a cup and next year we'll pay you millions, watch the fuckers go and do it. Well, I think all the owners should get together and say to all the players, not just the REAL expensive ones, ALL the players, here is your salary if you win a cup, here is your salary if you do not (%50 less than if you win). AS a (kinda of) hockey fan it is really quite simple, everyone watch and go to soccer games this season. Don't watch any hockey, don't buy any tickets. Fuck em. They're ALL too expensive anyways.

Trade Morgan Rielly. Choke artist in key games when playing the position he plays. We don't need him for goals and don't need to be trailing in games unnecessarily as we were once again after his error on the first goal in game 7.

When he says “rely on your structure” and that in the 2nd period “we lost our structure a few times and they capitalized” hes referrimg to Morgan Reilly.

I always though the leafs were around top 5 best so they exited accordingly but the 6-1 result twice is very sad. On the up, they went deeper in the playoffs in a long time so they are getting closer. Hoping florida starts to suck soon lol

I understand the human side, but this is about results. Matthews and Willy are signed long term, make sure Knies is locked up and go get a different group of players… i know easier said than done, but Marner and JT for different reasons might discover moving on was the best thing in hindsight ….
We know matthews, Nylander, and Knies aren't going anywhere, but the guys will be the ones they look at trading. Because you cannot have four guys making 13 million dollars and expecting to win a cup. It does not work. Bennette would be the type of player I would like to see go to Toronto. Brayden Schenn, Sam Bennette and Marchand are the types of players the Leafs need.
Great first season with Berube. It was a great regular season and have faith in berube for next season. Proud of this team and took the stanley cup champions to 7 but despite the heartbreak of elimination every year, looking forward to next season in october and again see Berube/the Leafs in the new season. Berube did a great job changing it up.. this team is on the right path, all we can do is move forward and things can only get better from here. Great coach! love him! GLG! onto next year..
I think Marner wants out and has probably wanted out for a while maybe and that’s probably why he didn’t sign the $13.5 mil deal when offered
Break it up, Shani, Marner, Reilly gone. If they could get rid of Mathews, tear it down. Start another rebuild, this team is not going anywhere. give the Coach at least 4 years.

Personally, I think coach was the best pickup of the year on this team.
The Leafs won't win a cup with Auston Matthews. Why are you media guys too afraid to call him out? His "I'm the best" negative attitude permeates the team and is one reason Ryan O'Reilly declined to come back..Now's the best time for MLSE to approach his agent to see if he'll waive his no trade clause..preferably to La La land..Toronto sports media are doing a disservice to true Leafs fans by not calling 34 out..He's not what a true captain – team leader represents.

I definitely like Bérubé, he holds the team accountable for their actions/ performance and he doesn’t make excuses for them. He said if they’re not doing their job, that’s on them and this is where I’d hope Shanahan steps in blasts these guys for not doing their job, that’s if he doesn’t get fired. Hopefully during the summer the leafs make some changes, I think they’re going in the right direction, just need to make some adjustments to their roster, maybe some management in the office as well. Leafs need someone in the office who will stomp on the players who are not doing their job especially for the amount of money they are getting paid and if not , come trade deadline, get rid of them.
Two games 5-7 , were bad. Although we have failed for 9 years this year cannot be written off for 2 bad games. So many positives that we won’t be able to acknowledge for weeks but when ya do the hope for an even longer run next season will be back. Disappointing yea, but it is the furthest we have gone and the closest we come so far in this era.
Great coach really leaf fans brought in some great defenseman. Look at the play and players. Nylander and Reilly way to soft and afraid to get hit. Trade them. Players looked like they got an ass reaming during intermission and broke their hearts boo hoo get a back bone cause your payed millions. Domi was the only one out there with pride and getting down and dirty.

Treliving must sign MARNER! I don't want to have another Kadri moment. I remember the Leafs losing Lanny McDonald in the '70, and Sitler was not the same player without Lanny. Papi will follow Marner if Mitch leaves. Rielly must be traded, he's a minus 17 defence man, for 7.5 million Rielly is not worth it. He's not a Norris Trophy kind of guy. Leafs have to let JT go, he's aging and did not help this team go to the next level. Sign Bennett, an Ontario boy, Treliving drafted him, and Bennett knows how to win. He would be great with Marner! I played hockey with Craig back in the RQB Camilla days, he was passionate then & he still is..Toronto should be proud to have him..
You need to trust your teammates for a system to truly work. The salary structure on this team has killed their ability to field a balanced group. When you have that problem, trust will crumble. No different than when your goalie has a tendency to give up the soft goal. These guys didn't have full belief in each other and when the chips were down in both series, they reverted to bad habits and the system crashed.
Need to dump Marner and Tavares salaries and get 3 or 4 guys who can be trusted. They'll be better for it.

Watch the game back and see how many Leafs stood around like a deer in headlights in their own zone. Seems there are some major structure issues! The system works in general and credit is due for the great season overall but when Florida found the answer there was 0 adjustment.
