Food for Thought — I wonder if there are any highly skilled players in the NHL who are getting paid big dollars and perform in the regular season (to get their big dollars) but who could care less about ever making the playoffs. Or worse – prefer NOT to make the playoffs.
Think of how much harder the playoffs are on your body + think of all those extra games.
If your primary goal is to make as much money as possible – that means playing as many years as possible – and if you never play in the playoffs that increases your chances of a very long career

You clowns broke down a middle school football game instead of the Hurricanes fundamental masterclass. You preach growing the game but won't discuss a team that is putting on an utter display of perfect execution and fundamentals. Out of the 8 teams left, the Canes are 3rd in goals per game. Talk about how Stankhoven has seamlessly stepped into a very important role, talk about how Svech has turn up his game a huge notch and is currently 3rd in goals, or talk about how Freddy is playing completely out of his mind. You all are doing the Hurricanes, their fans and ultimately hockey a disservice by not highlighting how execution and fundamentals can and will win championships. Imagine the NBA and its analyst did this to the Spurs during the pop/Duncan days. It would have been a travesty. Yes, the suffocating style isn't the most exciting but I'm not sure when exciting became more important that winning.
