I’ve had it with Bouchard. Every game he finds a new way to be the softest, most careless player on the ice. Turnover machine. No defensive instincts. And yet somehow he’s still trusted like a top-pairing defenseman. It is honestly embarrassing. This is not just a bad night. It is a pattern. He is a liability. Offers nothing when it matters. Bench him and do not re-sign him. I do not care about his point totals. He is hurting this team far more than he is helping.
As much as I'm an Oiler fan, this needs to happen in order for management to say experiment failed. We've got to retool this team in a lot of ways, mainly goalie and defense and really think this one through and if Connor walks I don't blame him. In fact, I hope he goes to Boston or or even maybe the Leafs. That would be fantastic just to teach Edmonton a big lesson because they're playing like s***
Back to his old self trying to do much and in result getting far less done, Bouchard same – they think, they need to make genious plays all the time, instead of making solid plays and hustle 100% all the time. That's not the way to win, not even in regular season, let alone in the playoffs. You're defender – Leon, Connor etc. are forwards – there is a difference….
Sure seems Nurse knows what the problem is but for some reason none of the players seem to change the way they’ve played all season…crap defensively in their own end. Not enough offence by secondary’s goal scores. Secondary goal scorers like Hyman, Nugent-Hopkins, Jeff Skinner ( if playing) Arvedsson, Yanmark, Brown, Henrique, Podkolzen. Need more from these 8 players. Perry, Kane, Fredrick…just do what you are able without coughing up the puck and taking penalties. McDavid and Driseidal just keep doing what you are doing minus the turn overs on bad pass attempts. Wouldn’t hurt if the defenseman would shoot the dam puck toward the net instead of all the frickin passes before a shot…that about sums it up I think!
This dude is part of the problem and its not just his play but the 9million cap hit, just lose the first rounder its going to cost to move him and get a goalie.
