The Leafs never fail to disappoint. Sundin's squad didn't get it done back then and they made a little boy cry. Matthews will do the same but they are not worth spending money to drown one's sorrows let alone tickets. Age has made me numb to this pain.

Toronto needs to trade regular season superstars, playoff duds, for solid regular season players, playoff superstars. The Leafs need a better mix of players. Easier said than done, however

How do you come out that flat in a tied series, at home, with THAT history? Matthews annual postseason disappearance is starting to look like just who he is. (This makes me question whether he belongs on Team USA in Italy next year.) The sample size is no longer small.
Im not discrediting Florida but I really think the Leafs just suck. It is an accumulation of the past 8 years for the core 4
if it were any other team losing this game by that score people would just credit the panthers and move on, but its the leafs and we will hear how they just fall apart every season till this time next year. That Panthers team took the lighting down fast and they are a very good team so im not sure how much shame there is in the loss. Now the complete and utter collapse in a must win game is a somewhat different story. As for the fans getting the shaft, its the risk you take when you follow a team. It sucks but what are you gonna do. Cheer for the Oilers maybe 🙂

Alot of 'Leafs sweaters ended up on the ice. That, is the ultimate white flag for this franchise. They completely choked!

Marner was good, Nylander had a solid game, Matthews was good but made a couple of useless mistakes. Still, Matthews and Nylander, Tavares, need to score. Or someone. In the first 3 games the Leafs were composed on D, positionally strong, last 2 games they've lost that cohesion and not played positionally well.
Until they lose game 4, they haven't lost the series. Management knows talent, but do they, notably Berube, know who plays to win, who raises their game when it gets tough, who will do what it takes to win? On D no problem, on O yes.
The players should apologize to the paying fans. A written, hand signed apology would be a nice touch.
Toronto's D let Woll down. Don't know is Stolie would've done much better. Go Cats.

Funny you mention the Boston – Florida series at the end. I was looking at the game numbers out of curiosity, and Florida lost game four 6-2, to go down 3-1. Toronto lost 6-1 to go down 3-2.

Round 3 is basically a free win for either Toronto or Florida, and with how Edmonton is playing it would be SOOO cool for a Toronto – Edmonton final. Fingers crossed!
