PLD was NEVER a point a game player anywhere in his career. Marner has been point per game or better every year since his 2nd year.
What number would he wear in LA? 16 is retired. 61 probably will be retired soon knowing their love of Trevor Lewis.

I understand your perspective on Marner, but the one aspect I'm not in agreement with is your comment about him being "the" guy that takes them to the cup. No, I don't think adding just him gets us the cup because I don't think one person, piece or component is all we need. Also, he doesn't need to be. He would be an excellent addition and one that would bolster the Kings for sure. I think Marner and QB on the same line would be scary! But we would still need other tweaks.

Yes to Marner and absolutely re-sign̈ Gavrigov.
Look how great Edmonds was , I’d rather over pay some key pieces and get more then our monies worth ,also what happens when your 14mil player gets injured before the post season , I’d way rather just get better and spread it out so we’ll be solid come post season , and be able to play all 4 lines and all 6 d ,and just wear teams out . And not praying one guy doesn’t get injured . Let’s just fill every gap and any upgrades if there are any without giving up 3 great guys for one guy .
Marner is an invaluable addition for any team, its the asking price and the fit.
If hes asking for a big raise and term really depends on the numbers (I think MVPs break the 13 million, but Toronto was kinda overpaying.)
If Marner is asking more than 12, I'd look real hard at who is leaving because of it.
