Here is a great play by John Carlson that led to the Caps goal. Players are tought to move pucks below the goal line and use the net in the offensive zone. This is to relieve pressure or change sides to spread the defensive team out. Carlson did a great job at anticipating this play and breaking the puck out quick which led to a goal.
