Steve, I have a question for you: "If the Leafs had lost game 7 of the Stanley Cup Finals, would you have considered this year to be a success?" I suspect ANY fan would answer "YES" to that question.
Well, why doesn't everyone wait about a month beofre passing judgement, because what if the Panthers go on to win back to back Cups? That means that the Leafs took the cup champions to 7 games! Think about that for a moment!

I’ve gotta be real here. If the Leafs don’t make some major changes, I will still be a Leaf fan, but I will not really follow the team the way I have for the last few decades. From game 4 through till game 7 it was once again the most vial train wreck of a performance that once again ends with the Leafs walking away with their tails between their legs!!! It was so pathetic, I don’t think anyone should be safe!!!
But this is just my opinion, and I am a nobody. GO OILERS GO!!!
This man covered the Canadiens games after they beat the leafs on their way to the finals when I couldn't watch the games on tv, and I respect that. You deserve a better team bud, join the dark side… Well I guess we'd be more like the light side and the leafs are more like an eternal pit of darkness

Steve, I don't know if this is going to make you feel better (I hope that it does) but I just want to share this with you. I am a Stars fan. I moved to DFW from San Diego. When I lived in San Diego I had Charger season tickets and sat there in the AFC championship game and watch the Raiders move down the field over the last seven minutes of the game and score with maybe 5 seconds left and beat the Chargers by a point or two and go on an win the Super Bowl. The last time the Chargers won anything was in 1963, four years earlier than the Leafs last Cup. I also used to go see the Padres and watch the Dodgers come to town and destroy them. Heck, everyone destroyed them. I moved to DFW in 1982 and waited till 1999 before I saw the Stars win. And keep in mind too that while in San Diego I got to suffer through the Donald Sterling ownership of the Clippers only to watch him move them up to LA. I know misery. I feel your pain and hope that your wait is short and that Toronto does win a championship soon for you. By the way, on another note…..I stand with Canada. My government is so, so wrong.

Firstly, I'll say that I am an Ottawa Senators fan and proud to be one as I believe we are on the upswing, but also because I could boast to yourself and all the leaf fans that yes in the century or even half century or quarter century, we have been to a Stanley Cup final , and had another chance of making a Stanley Cup final in 2016 going into double overtime in Pittsburgh and losing…. I truly believe if we had won that game, we were winning the Stanley Cup because Nashville was waiting!
A little history, I was a leaf fan growing up as I recall games from 74 -75 and called it quits in 88 ! I remember telling my dad that I was no longer cheering for the leafs, as I will never see them in a cup as long as I live !
I'm now 62 years old, and for those 4 years before we got the Senators, I was a Bruins fan because I knew them well and enjoyed watching them !
Being a senator's fan since 92 …. still to this day, Darryl Sittler and Borje Salming are two of my favourite players ever…… but as I'm watching now, I'm seeing likeable players on our team like Brady Tkachuk, Sanderson, Timmy Stutzle etc…. so things are looking good for us hopefully !!!!

I have affection for the Leafs, though they aren't my boys, and I wanted the panthers to win, but even I had my head in my hands halfway through the 2nd. They just *fell apart*! It was so sad to watch.
The unregulated violence and "grittiness" of the playoff is my least favorite part, but until that part of hockey culture changes, you have to play with at least some of it to win. And when the leafs didn't fight back at ALL at the end of game 5 to "send a message" for the next two games … What? Bang some bodies, hit back, do anything!!! It's so stupid to say "they didn't want it" because they obviously do, but they just gave up in G5, and then just seemed to do it again in G7. Sad, just sad. Put up a fight!
(Also, Marchy had just an incredible game7, he was dancing out there, beautiful to watch, I'm sorry to leafs nation 🙃)
