What A Quinn Hughes TRADE To The NJ Devils Will Look Like

With Jim Rutherford saying Quinn Hughes wants to play with His brothers Jack and Luke Hughes, the Hockey world and NJ Devils fans all waited to hear those words.
Since this Vancouver Canucks fans and NHL Analysts and Sports Writers have been putting Together Mock Trades of what the Vancouver Canucks and New Jersey Devils would have to give up to make this trade happen.
In this video I discuss what I think Tom Fitzgerald would give up for the NJ Devils to Acquire Top Defenseman Quinn Hughes from the Canucks.

  1. I think Hamilton, Mercer and a first could be close. If they add a nemec or a casey id hope the devils could get back a couple other pieces of maybe someone for the middle and bottom 6.

Maybe go blockbuster and figure out a trade for boeser/suter included.

  2. dougie will leave when dougie wants to leave. dougie has a 10 team NTC and a full NMC for this coming season. meaning hed have to waive his NMC to be traded at all and there is 10 teams that we absolutely can not trade him to even if he waives his NMC. tall order to move a player with that sort of trade protection. i do however agree that nico timo bratt nemec yegorov all of these guys are off limits for Vancouver. there is no reason to send a core player or a top prospect for quinn. also i have not read anywhere that quinn has requested a trade at all, the only thing thats been officially said is that he doesnt want to resign and he wants to play with his brothers. so his actual value will be dictated by what other teams that are interested in getting quinn as a 2 year rental and what they are willing to pay. which wont be that much, and will probably involve salary retention from Vancouver. Canucks fans dont want to hear this but it is the truth. if the ask is too high the devils are fine waiting, afterall quinn is a want not a need for the devils right now. and when quinns contract is up we will have plenty of cap space because dougie palat and dillon all come off the books that same offseason. the devils are in absolutely no hurry to make this happen. it only benifits Vancouver if it happens now rather than later, as every game quinn plays while wearing a canucks jersey from here on out lowers his trade value. this is a no win scenario for Vancouver and its something the fans are going to have to accept. itll be better for the canucks in the long run if picks and prospects are the only return for quinn anyways as it will help accelerate a rebuild which is what that franchise needs if we are being completely honest

  3. Hamilton was great, top of his game when we got him. That was 3 or 4 injuries ago. 2 of them major injuries. But he's got a no trade clause. Will he be healthy for next year – doubtful. Will he be as good as he was when we got him – another doubtful. And the 9 mil cap hit. But I don't see him wanting to go to Vancouver even if they like him. Plus throwing in Mercer and possibly a first rounder, I'm not sure a decent deal for NJ is possible going for Quinn early. If he really wants to play with his bros, they most likely will still be in Jersey in 2 years. Vancouver could get a lot for him and I think they will try since he spilled the beans already.

  4. Sorry to disagree, but Dougie "Didn't pick us".
All Dougie did was accept the ridiculously overpriced & over tenured contract that he was offered by out loser GM Tom "Booze Face" Fitzgerald.
Dougie would've agreed to play for Anchorage if they offered him that absurd contract & that ridiculous term.
Likewise for Palat. No serious, sane, legitimate GM offered to pay Palat, a career 12 goal per year guy, 6 million bucks for multiple seasons. That is why Palat also "chose us".
Booze Face Fitz has overpaid for every FA he has ever signed & failed every single deadline.
If the Devils want to win, Booze Face has to go 🔥

  5. Sorry dougie isn’t coming to Vancouver salary cap as Canucks are up against it.
I know Quinn wants out hearing it with people working around the team. Owner want to keep Quinn..
Mercer nemec 1st in 26 and prospects making the rounds and what the Canucks want.. Sherwood not being moved hometown boy.. keep eye out for Florida teams no state tax. Great video

  6. Let's give leftovers to Vancouver for one of the best defenseman in the league. 2 years is still 2 years. 🤷

  7. if you think you get more than just hughes for that package your bias is clear. Sheerwood set the record for hits last season and had a fair few goals too, I don't think the package you presented was even that great for hughes and would be out bid easily let alone with sheerwood.

  8. This would really be such a mistake. This is tantamount to a circus act. The Devils need wingers, not more D men. Having all three Hughes brothers on the team is a gimmick; its not going to make the Devils better.

  9. Love to get Quinn. But, looking at the devs roster atm, I don’t think the piece(s) are there, that Vancouver would want in a trade.

  10. no way vancouver wants hamilton as part of a deal for hughes. hamilton is a cap dump and you would need to pay vancouver to take him alone with no other players involved haha.

  11. This is the NJD version of raymond ballard and a third. hughes has no trade protection. Theres 30 other teams in the league that would offer more than this lol.

  12. I want to see them wait it out with Quinn. Devils need offensive help, if nemec or casey are going to get moved it's gotta to be for offense. Now, some package involving Nemec or Casey for Sherwood, i'd be up for
