This almost feels like the analysis of someone who doesn't watch the games… How can you go over the comeback serie against the LA kings and not mentionne once the play of the serie in Bouchard. He also was the best performing player in the serie against Vegas. And its also not ''almost true'' that EDM only relies on Mcd and Draitl, its completly false, as you said, its the whole team who plays great right now
The reason why Edmonton is there is McDavid.
Not staying to take the Conn Smythe after they lost game 7 last year tells you his priorities.
Far more assists than goals, he’s actively elevating his teammates, and his team. He is adding to the effectiveness of the Oilers’ depth.
And if his team doesn’t have it, whenever he wants, he can turn a game around by himself.
They will beat Dallas regardless whether Rantanen plays or not.
Looking forward to a Florida v Edmonton rematch.
If the Leafs are smart, if Edmonton wins the Cup this year, Toronto should give McDavid whatever he wants to take that team to the Cup, too. McJesus is the only one who could do that.

Oilers have been beat by the cup winners 3 years in a row now. 2022, 2023 and 2024. Not saying it means anything, but it does kinda feel like they've paid their dues now. Hope they can finish the job the year, McDavid and Drai 100% deserve to have their names on the cup. The cup is cheaper without them on it.

The Oilers always find a way, look at how hard Mcdavid sacrifices his body to win, Dallas is no better then Oilers. Oilers by far is the most exciting and talented team in playoffs. Oilers in 6, bank on it.
Should be epic. There's star power on both sides. Rantanen, Heiskanen, Oettinger. McD, Drai, Bouche?…Ekholm? The Oilers could use Ekholm, the sooner the better. But Oilers have been getting it done by committee on D and among forwards. If the Rocket trophy winner's line with Podz and Kaper can check Rantanen's that would be big. I'll assume coaching is even.
Edge for Dallas: Otter and no, or rusty, Ekholm. Edge for Edm: Abrasiveness, and McD's burning look. It's bringing the best out of his teammates up and down the lineup, each digging up what they have to offer, no passengers: Kane, Brown, Henrique, Janmark, Frederic, Hyman, RNH, the whole D corps, the goalies…and Perry's wily wisdom. I don't watch Dallas closely, but I'm not sure if they will match this inner fire that's glowing brighter every game. Oilers in 7.
Less if Ekholm is playing in top form by Gm 3. Or if the Edm PP gets rolling. What can sink the Oilers is their struggling special teams getting beat.

Hard to imagine winning a cup without at least a top 3 goalie let alone not even making the top ten by a long shot? I don't know shit about hockey really but this seems obvious. (I am a gambler though and those are the type of stats I use to decide my parlays as I don't know s*** about the game.*except great goalies win games, especially series.) I don't know enough about how that's decided to judge but I am curious as to why this obvious issue wasn't corrected for the 2025 Stanley Cup playoffs?!?! Are they locked in to a bad contact or something?
