Moving Brock was a really good move. Not moving, Palms and May was terrible.
I'd try to move the Colorado pick and Dobson to grab a top 5 pick this year (Brady Martin).
To walk away from the draft with Schaefer and Martin and Ritchie for 26 games of Brock and Dobson ($8m contract???).
Brady Martin is the kind of player you want after game 82. He looks like a Panther, a Bruin, an Islander 🙂
Colorado's 1st rd. pick will never land a player like Martin, and Dobson is never going to be the player the Islanders need come playoff time. Move on.

The Islanders fanbase will be fine with the retool as long as the team is open about the process and is heading in the right direction.
Don't be shocked if Dobson is signed and traded, he doesn't want to be in NY period, he wants Cali and all the insiders know it and they're tired of all the drama going on. As for a retool, that's fine but a rebuild is out of the question

Lou wanted players in return-that's why more trades where not done. Love the Islander front office or hate them one thing should be clear-they do their home work and only add players they think will contribute. They did not move Palmieri because they knew/believed they where not getting anything of value back. The front office has standards and are not in the business of giving away anything. This year's draft is a weak one-the top 2 are great then the next 18 are solid then that's it. Why waste your time?
