  1. Any chance we can start having a link to an unlisted version of member videos in the description? Background play doesn’t work on YouTube for member videos which makes it hard to listen to this as a podcast 😢

  2. Shirts don't make the man, the man makes the shirt. And always let the wife buy the shirt, they know you best. Thanks for the show, guys.

  3. Even a offer sheet for McTavish won’t work without going really overboard, Ducks have a ton of CapSpace

  4. Montreal canadians made the playoffs with 91 and absolutely one of the worst second lines in hockey ……. Bo Horvat and Ivan demidov on the second line this year and we'll have a 100 point season ……… Kirby dach and Alex newhook are 🎉going to have a bounce back season ……………

  5. Horvat will only turn 36 a month before the contract ends (minus playoffs). I am not scared of 35 years old. Players like Horvat who don’t have a ton of miles, plays a high IQ not super physical game and don’t rely on speed usually are good until that long. Do it, nothing to worry about at all.

  6. When do you make your move, whe Suzuki is 30,you need to take another step up,horvak I say yes,who cares about litr,it comes off the books next year

  7. I would listen to ANY offer for Slafkovsky becuase he is big time over rated.Slafkovsky does not play big often enough he does not play smart he is real dumb defensively he does not have above avg shot or passing so he is a ho hum third line player. There is no way Buff would ever give MTL Tage for Caufield it is not enough Tage is a MUCH better player.
Horvat is NOT the answer to anything just another over priced player like Laine is.This is the perfect way to waste salary cap and leave your team handcuffed like what has been happening the last 30 years.
Mtl Has never won a cup in the salary cap era they have NOT been good at managing contracts.

  8. The habs need too much to become a serious cup contender one second line center is not good enough.Hage will not be the answer Fowler definitely not the answer and Demidov needs help that MTL does not have unless you take Slaf off that line and insert Demidov.
The ONLY player not in MTL that could make at least an offensive difference is Mailloux.
BTW mentioning Wright Shane was ahead of Slafkovsky most of the year until that crazy 4-6 weeks where Laine got 15 pp goals Suzuki and Caufield were on fire it allowed Slaf to get points just by being there.
If Slaaf had the same type of surrounding and ice time as Wright imo Shane is more productive as well carrying a PLUS than Slafkovsky would be under the same situation.

  9. With the apparent clashing of heads in Detroit, Montreal should look into a package for Dylan Larkin. Perfect 2c one that can fill in if 1c got injured and still produce, but when we’re all healthy he is a speed demon and with demidov they could have a great long term future.

What would it cost…. A lot

I’d even go as far as

    16 overall
    17 overall
Next year 1st top 10 protected
    Michael Hague

Now I don’t want to give up on Hague but if we’re bringing in a long term 2c and a good one, that would have eventually been a spot for Hague. Move while we have the piece, and give a little bit of breathing room for some other prospect already in the pipeline, there comes a point when you can have too many good prospect that it effects actual growth.

  10. McTavish is an RFA, offer sheet him. Verbeek is stingy with contracts for young players, he's gonna want to give him a bridge deal

  11. I think the biggest takeaway is right at the end when Marco correctly pointed out that Montreal is in a seller's market. As eager as most of us are for a significant roster upgrade this offseason might not provide many opportunities. I'm confident that management will have the discipline to wait for the right moment even if it comes further down the road.
