Condolences to Mark and his family and his Jets family…congrats to Jets on a great season. Dallas has a very good team and reality is they have a big advantage over Winnipeg in signing the big names… Future is bright, just need to fill a couple of holes…
presidents cup curse …it's real 😉
Mark is now a legit two way center and a Jet legend that will play with this team until he retires!
As a stars fan you've gotta feel for 55. Couldn't of been a worse way to lose a game like this. Im happy for dallas but I couldn't even celebrate the game right away. Just felt bad for him.
On the overall game I thought Dallas should of won by 5. It really should of been 3-0 after the first. But a combination of Hellebuyck and uncharacteristic poor execution from Stars forwards kept it close. Hellebuyck played really well he looked exceptional as a former goalie it was a technically perfect performance. But ultimately thr difference was Oettinger, not just tonight but in the series. He's the playoff goalie and stood tall when Dallas needed him.
Overall awesome series, it deserved to be a 7 game series it was a really well played match-up. Tons of respect to Winnipeg they played an incredible series.
Helle cannot start 60+ games again. Last night's game was his 79th start of the year when you add in 4 Nations and the playoffs along with his 63 regular season starts.
This is 3 straight playoffs now where his form has dropped off. I do think he's just mentally fatigued. Him being a workhorse and needing to play as much as possible should not be more important than him being rested for Game 83 and beyond. So either Comrie is given more trust to start at least 27 games, or the Jets need to actually invest in a quality back-up that can give them 27 starts, and not just get the cheapest back-up available.
great discussion. Stars fan here that visited Winnipeg and saw them dismantle the Stars in March. Mad respect to your team and your city…everyone was so friendly to me and I would love to come back again.
Great team overall and challenging playoff rounds. I think we got so beat up in round 1 it was hard to recover.
Guys who didn't measure up; Appleton, Morrissey, Vilardi, Schenn and Stanley.
You'd like to see more from Lowery, Iafallo.
Helleybuck was absolutely 2 different people, and not good most of the time in round 1.
Pionk was in a class by himself, Samberg, DeMelo, Ehlers were all really good, Ehlers especially in the 2nd round.
Arniel is a great coach, but I'd like to see some more adjustments with the lineup knowing some guys were hurt, tired and struggling. Fresh legs would've been nice.
This is a big off-season for the Jets. We need a young developed guy to step up; Salomonsson, Lambert.
And we probably have to sign a depth 2C.
Another flop in the playoffs and another failure by this core. This is not a group of gamers or champions or winners.
Wheeler’s officially off the payroll!
Thanks Connor and Lyss for the wrap up and the your prognostications for next season 👍👍
