Happy Saint-Jean to everyone. Quebecers, we are proud. Let’s go. We’re gonna take it.

    0:31

Hi Phillip, I’d like to make you back a few minutes, behind. Is there a way to describe your game when you go between Whitecloud and Martinez … Lehkonen… It’s probably one of most beautiful game in your career. What did you feel?

Eats Pizza Won’t be long… Listen, I just went for the moment that was present. I saw the opening. Umm.. We played well the entire series, our lineup. [*Uncertain: We weren’t able to capitalise yet]. And listen.. it was the cherry on the sundae. I saw lehky on my left, and tried to [*uncertain: open up the hockey]… I don’t know if it was Martinez or Theodore. Umm.. and I saw the opening so… Lehky big goal. Beautiful zone entry from Gally as well. So really a memorable play.

Hi Phillip, what does it mean to you to reach this step like you said in English, if you can just repeat it in French. And also, to have this victory amid the evening of the Saint-Jean Baptiste?

Yea like I said: Happy Saint-Jean everyone (*said with a heavy, exaggerated Quebec accent on purpose), like we say in good ol’ Quebecois (the French language). It’s special, honestly. I felt inside me that something big was gonna happen today… and it the 24th of June, the Saint-Jean. Uhh… it’s really exceptional. Honestly, I have trouble putting it into words, I’m having trouble processing everything that’s happened. I’d have to take a moment, outside of my emotions, to think back. It’s incredible what happened. And I’m really proud of all the boys. We’re playing excellent hockey and uhh… We want more. We want to win. We didn’t do all that for nothing. We’re hungry… and umm… it’s the most beautiful moment of our lives.

[*Uncertain: Phillip, in the process… if we start from the series with the Jets and the one from tonight… your trio has faced among the best, top 6 of the NHL. Statistically, (*something something*), out of the scoring sheet.] Can you express how proud you must feel, you and your trio buddies, to have accomplished that?

Yeah, a huge pride, a huge pride. We’re happy but not satisfied. We still have a long way to go, the hardest. But really proud of what we have accomplished as a lineup. Listen, our defensemen as well, Price is solid. He makes big saves. So we really take our roles seriously and everyone is participating in their own ways. We’re scoring big goals. It’s really fun to see and like I said, it’s the most fun hockey I played in my career to date.

Yeah hi Phillip, pardon me if there’s some noise. Can you put yourself in you Captain’s shoes, Shea Weber who will be in the final for the first time in his career, taking into account all the sacrifices that he has done and the example that he sets for the rest of the team. What feeling… well listen… you too you’ll be in the final for the first time, but for a veteran like that, it must be fun to know that in the end, all together you guys are heading to the final with him…(*inaudible)….

Yeah… Webby is an extraordinary captain.. umm… the best captain that I’ve had so far. He has the chance to prove himself in the playoffs. And uhh… it was a big goal today. He makes good passes. He pays the price. He blocks the shots. Really a good image for the Canadiens. Yeah, I think that… It means everything. It means the whole world for him to be in the finals. And umm… to be with us… He’s proud of us. We’re proud of him. It’s really an exceptional team.

  2. The most overrated players in the NHL are PK Subban Steven Stamkos Erik Karlsson John Tavares auston Matthews Mitch Marner these guys are good but they do not live up to their paychecks they failed to show up when it matters the most these guys should not get into the Hall of Fame at all

  3. J'aime «l'àxant»
Merci à tous. Bonne fête de St. Jean. Bonne Fête Nationale du Québec. Et ça sent la Coupe…

  4. Cannot imagine what it must be for the kid. Must be freaking surreal. He must be thinking:"Not too long ago I was playing with my action figures"

  5. Do you pick up on the bond between these two? That is what sets our team apart. Heart and doing the job for each other!!

  6. I am so impressed with Calfield's poise. This kid has packed a career's worth of accomplishments into six months – WJC Gold, Hobie Baker, NCAA, QJMHL, NHL and now he gets to play for the Cup! Next year, he may be able to be "Rookie of the Year…"

  7. Abit disappointed in Suzuki he seem lost on the ice probably worry too much bout getting hit out of nowhere…Vietnam flashback

  8. Tellement heureux pour Phillip Danault !! Le gars le mérite tellement, un joueur sous-estimé qui fait tout une différence. Pi Caufield…. WOW On vit des beaux moments!

  9. I love this team. I'm 46, the Habs won the first 4 years of my life, then when I was 11 and 18. A lost final at 14 years old. The complicity is off the charts. I just wish that Romanov and kulak were playing instead of Gustafson and Merrill. Also, sadly, we're better off without Drouin. He's a soft, inconsistent and moody bitch.

  10. Look at how happy they both are. These my friends, are true teammates.

Caufield: "It's for the older guys, and the payers who have been here for a whle"

Danault: "But you sure are a great big part of it ;)"

  11. poor Caulfield can't even legally have a champagne
with his team in the locker room. :/ this is a big difference between price and weber's interview, those two looked like they came back from a funeral. happens when you get older i guess.
