McRae overcome with emotions speaking on devastating news about Adam Selwood | Pies Press Conference

Craig McRae reacted to his Collingwood Magpies’ 78-68 win over the Adelaide Crows. He was happy with his team’s fight in tough conditions but the game wasn’t the most important subject today, as McRae spoke about the tragic news of the passing of former AFL player, Adam Selwood.

  1. Totally respect fly, tiger supporter speaking. He was pivotal in producing our 3 cups. Thank you mccrae and I respect YOU!!!

  2. I am a long time, loyal Bomber fan & member, who obviously doesn't like Collingwood..

But Craig McCrae is class & am full of admiration for him…
I respect him & how he coaches & manages the team..
It's no wonder Collingwood are on top of the ladder…

Condoglianze to the Selwood family… 🙏🧡🙏
    Absolutely heartbreaking… 😢

  3. Go for Carlton but protect this man at all costs. He reacted like a leader would. The loss of one of his staff feels like a loss for him.

  4. Now THAT is what I call a professional and a good man. A very sad feeling as an Eagles supporter who grew up watching him play. Can't fathom how the family is feeling, but it's powerful to see the entire AFL community come together at this time. Mental health is important. YOU are important. May this be a wake up call for the AFL to continue strong support for players both current and retired, with their mental health. Vale Adam Selwood. You and your brother's legacy will be remembered.

  5. Sympathy to both family whose fathers both let them down by being such weak minded individuals. Quit glorifying cowardice

  6. He just didn’t have the manhood to be strong and support his family. His family will suffer forever. Loser

  7. He just didn’t have the manhood to be strong and support his family. His family will suffer forever. Loser

  8. Men in their own lives at an 80% higher rate than women do, but we don’t have a male mental health round for football. It’s disgusting the way modern society treats men’s issues as if they don’t exist.

  9. As someone that has experienced 2 very close friends, any news of this sort of thing tears the bandage right off,may your battle be over and rest easy

  10. Man. The amount of pain. May the Selwpod family feel the love surrounding them at this moment.
Craig is such a golden man, what an incredible character.

  11. Thank you Craig and others of note not West Coast fans expressing condolences. I've been an Eagles supporter since almost establishment and best wishes for the Selwood family and close friends. RIP Adam Selwood and RIP Robert Wallis.

  12. Freo supporter here, but Craig McRae is first Class, someone asks a question and he politely asks if we can talk about it later so he can get through talking about the game, pure Class.

  13. So much love for Fly, the magpie army has it’s arms around you coach. Deepest sympathy to the Selwood family, one of the nicest footy families, we are devastated for your loss 😢❤️

  14. Environment must play a huge role related to performance. As a Hawks supporter I watched Ned Long battle & struggle to play AFL but would always end up back in the VFL. But when he was delisted & one last chance in a mid year draft the Pies picked him up. He has thrived in amongst what must have been huge pressure. Love & nurture obviously play a huge role. Well done Ned Long & huge heart in McCrae.

  15. He has a mum and a dad, brothers and sisters his wife and his daughter, we all have family, you would not be human if you didn’t feel for the Selwood family it was devastating. We all felt those emotions on Saturday morning.

  16. I wonder if there was some kind of pact between the Selwood twins and Adam Hunter? 🤔

It is not normal for three healthy young men to be suddenly brown bread 🍞🍞🍞

  17. Is anyone else wondering how Adam died and why they're not telling us the cause as they do whenever someone dies. Very suss
