What the hell was he thinking

The Vegas Golden Knights and Edmonton Oilers have a history when it comes to the NHL Playoffs. Last year, we saw Alex Pietrangelo get a 1 game suspension for his 2 handed slash on Leon Draisaitl, Evander Kane also had a nasty cross check on Pietrangelo that series but this year, we now have another chapter to this evolving rivalry. Last night, after the Golden Knights were able to pull of a 2 goal comeback and push game 2 into overtime, where they were easily the better team early, about 5 minutes into OT Nicolas Roy made a terrible judgment call and cross checked Trent Frederic leading to a 5 minute major and a game misconduct. One of the worst penalties we’ve seen this Playoffs, as it completely killed the momentum the Knights had. We also saw a missed call on the Oilers 10 minutes later as Arvidson got away with a can opener trip on McNabb that should have been a penalty. Instead, the Connor McDavid setting up a beauty for Leon Draisaitl took game 2 in overtime as the Oilers take both on the road now leading the series 2-0 heading back to Edmonton. I cover it all and more in todays NHL hockey video!

  1. Lol, VGK getting what they deserved. The refs helped them out so much vs the cats 2 years ago. Love seeing the missed calls and biased refereeing against them for once. Hope the refs blow the next two games as well. The injured reserves are the biggest frauds in the NHL and the only team I love seeing lose due to refs. Their names should be removed from the cup, and franchise dismantled for obvious cheating and league bias from inception. This is coming from a sens fan btw…. f**k the knights.

  2. Roy's action had no bearing on the end result. It was the missed tripping call that distracted and threw off the Knights.

  3. With Skinner in net for next game, Oilers will loose again. Definition of stupid: Knoblauch! He just let in 2 goals in less than ONE MINUTE. BIG LOSER!

  4. Playoffs start and player safety leaves the building. We are leaf fans and there are way too many missed calls on both teams in the second round. So many things they let go, that I really wish they wouldn't. Hockey is a tough sport, but it shouldn't be this ugly!

  5. There was no suspension for Roy.
    The NHL is a joke.
It's not hockey anymore. It's degeneracy on ice. Gary Bett365 has ruined hockey with circus clown sideshows.

  6. Odd that more people aren’t paralysed in hockey. Things happen so fast and anytime anyone can be the victim. Therefore is one of the reasons to retire not too late. Very bitter to end up in a wheelchair after 20 great seasons only to turn into Christopher Reeve 2.0 at 41 cause you’re chasing it against stronger quicker youngsters out to make a name for themselves.

  7. The OFFICIAL STANCE ON THE PART OF THE NHL ON ‘Trying to protect players’ is OFFSIDE. CLEARLY IT IS NOT ONLY THE USUAL SUSPECTS. The fouls that are not called are just agregious as the ones they ‘MANAGE’ to see. As a hockey fan for over 65 years, I’m sick to death of this ‘winning at any cost’ is SICKENING. Betman and his gang of lawyer cronies surely can clean the game up. Careers have been ended as a result of unimaginable fouls. The skill on the ice are amazing to see until you see a dirty play with INTENT TO INJURE. TIME TO GO, GARY and let someone with a conscience run the league and ‘PLAYER SAFETY’

  8. Talk about the lack of calls durning the last panthers game. the refs are awful not calling high sticks. the league needs to do something

  9. I’m not an oilers fan, and I’m certainly no Vegas fan. But for the love of hockey the officiating in every game I’ve watched of my teams and everyone else’s has been appalling.

  10. Pretty sure this is all the Golden Knights know how to do since they're protected by the league.
