Ladecky can stay, but Malkin HAS TO GO!
Its not a popular GM job. As much as some people want believe, not many people of merit want to get involved with this mess. More than one party ownership. No farm system. Not a great coach. Terrible player contracts. I think ownership is a huge problem. Too many chefs. Total ridiculous
It's not a struggle. Gorton wasn't available. Darche, Bergevin and Jarmo are being interviewed this week. We didn't want Holland anyway.
“A fly in the ointment, a monkey in the wrench, a pain in the ass” John McClane 1988 😂😂😂
That’s Lou alright
Lou is about to do a total rebuild in 5 minutes. I bet a lot of you people voted for Kamala
Where the hell is all the increased interest in this team’s GM opening? Everyone said that winning the lottery would mean that this is the most desired job opening. Is this organization so historically toxic and dysfunctional that even having the first pick makes no difference? Bad luck ALWAYS follows this franchise.
And I thought facial hair and mullets were coming…….😢
The fact that they wanted Holland who is “Lou Redux,” gives me no hope for them to get this search right
lou's contract is not up…he wasn't fired and will be there til it's over….they just didn't renew him
Good 🌄, Gil. How are you? I knew the Islanders' search for a new GM was going to take some ⏲️, but they need to get one before the draft in LA next month. Jeff Gorton wants to stay in Montreal. Also, you're right, Gil they need to get the 🪰 out of the ointment. I like the candidates, but if they're going to interview Greeley, THEY SHOULD WAIT UNTIL THE 🌟 ARE ELIMINATED. The Islanders should keep their mouth shut in front of the press, THEY CAN'T BE TRUSTED. I don't trust that man. The new GM has to clean up Bridgeport's mess, too. He signed Patrick Roy to 3 more years. I like what he did with the 😈, but it's ⏲️ to move on. It's like this think back when your mother kept you 🏡 from 🏫 because you were sick as a dog, and she gave the medicine that you hated because it tasted terrible; however, it turned out to be the best 💊 you ever took. Simon. Hohlstom, one of the few 1st round picks that Lou Lamoriello didn't trade. He had a 20.8% shooting percentage. He's gotten better as he goes along. He scored 20 goals. He get a A-. HAPPY 🎂, DON BLACKBURN. He scored 2 goals and an assist in a 9-7 win over the Bruins. At the ⏲️ it would be their little Stanley Cup. Hear from you later, Gil, nostalgia ⏲️. Now, LET'S GO ISLANDERS.
Isles owners care, and there's that, but this Lou thing is just strange, like he has these owners in thrall.
I honestly don’t give that much credit to Lou maybe I’m ignorant. Yes he signed Trotz which was his best move and he inevitably undid it Most of the roster that made it to the playoffs was Garth snows. So getting to the playoffs was mostly Trotz and the former gms roster
Good morning team! I would love to be the one to tell Lou what his advisory role duties are. I would advise him how to find the exit door. Gil, I have two suggestions about who could be the new GM. My first selection would be you. I like how you know just what the team needs and you are not a fan of any BS. In the event you don't wish to be the Islanders GM, my second choice would be David Stearns. Build the Islanders like the Mets were built. About Holmstrom, do I have to say I love this kid? Because if I have to I will. I believe he's going to get better and better. I can realistically see him as a potential 2nd line player, definitely 3rd line. Plus I like his PK skills. If there is a bright spot on the PK, it would be Holmstrom.
Everyone, have a great day! See you all again tomorrow. Until then.. Let's Go Islanders!!
It's like the circus is back in town (i.e. Wang era) total clown show. Get rid of this guy already, if for no other reason to save your fan base. If Lou stays I think fans will stop showing up and the new arena will be a ghost town. Maybe that's what it will take for ownership to get their head out of their ass. Until they do I think I will be watching Utah a lot more next season.
Need to get something in place as the draft is coming up, and dump Lou. LGI
They will get a gm. And when we do we will either pick misa or Schaffer with our 1st rd pick. Be patient isles faithful.

You have just got to wonder what Lou has on Malkin!
Before anyone jumps off a building. Wait til playoffs are over. Why just grab anyone just to fill the position.
Terrible panic always among Isles fans. Those 4 Cups were decades ago. For whatever reason they’re not an attractive purchase. So they always attract owners more interested in everything except Hockey. Now it’s Belmnt Ghost Town. I mean Village. I hate to say it but Lou ended decades of mismanagement and laughing stock status for this team. I think Malkin saw that and he’s reluctant to make a mistake and bring some nut like Milbury in here. This team was on the likely to move list for years. And no one was at the games. 6k. Average. Saskatoon a possible destination not long ago.
Ken Holland not a big loss. Let’s be patient
Maybe they need Neil Smith again? Or hire Ron Hextall. That’ll work!
Boot out Lou !!!!
I just do not get it. Malkin is happy with the lousy contracts Lou has given out? If not for Barry's brilliant coaching, Lou's run would really be bad.
We need a young guy. Holland would have sucked. I want an ambitious, young, hungry guy that will reshape the whole team.
This ownership is weak the Rangers never have these issues
Better not to rush this search and interview the right people. Since 1993 the optics of this organization is just puzzling.
Holland makes a home in British Columbia so there was literally no chance of him coming here; he's spent his entire career in the Westen Conference. As far as Gorton is concerned, I get why they wouldn't give the Isles permission, and why Gorton would want to stay in Montreal. I wouldn't pay much attention to that. Arthur Staple's tweets about the situation doesn't help the situation.
Honestly ownership needs to get out in front of these decisions and speak directly to the media, because otherwise we're all living under this shrouds of doubt and questioning decisions. It doesn't look good the way things are going, especially in this age of social media when these discussions are happening daily.
Got to disagree on "cutting down on the leaks." Lou was the king of sealing leaks. It made for an unfriendly fan experience. I the communications to be more open. Also: with regard to Sorokin: NOT worth the $8.25M. Sorokin, like Hellebuyck, is showing again why you don't spend more than $5M on a goalie. Several teams in the last decade have won Cups with a mid-range (expense-wise) goalie.
This situation reminds me of the Mets in the past. Either they will have to overpay for a retread or hire someone without experience looking to make the jump up to the big seat. Keeping Lou around makes it even worse.
