I think Rod held Chatty out to give BOOM ice time that wasn't a must-win situation… Nikishin is the backup, do you really want to throw him to the wolves in the ECFs with NO NHL ice time if someone gets injured?? Let him get his feet wet without the extra pressure, give Chatty his birthday off, and shut the Caps down anyway! WINS ALL AROUND!

Do you do interviews? If so, you should bring on Coach Ryan D from Hot Garbage Sports. He actually understands what the Canes are doing with their system and does a great job breaking it down in his videos. He coached Jarvis for about 2 weeks but spent more time with his group of friends. Might have a fun story or two.

Felt like I was watching a Capitals broadcast last night. No recognition whatsoever from a canes POV.
Another thing that did not happen in the series is no Canes were seriously injured. I’m assuming from the descriptions of “tweaked something” that Chatfield is sore, but not injured to the point of missing games in the ECF. Nikishin played okay for having his NHL debut in a deciding game in round 2 of the playoffs. Had a hard shot on goal, and a smashingly good hit in front of his goal that knocked a Cap into the next decade.
If Aho starts lighting up the scoreboard, I’m pretty confident the Canes can beat Florida. Just have to continue to evade the big hits, and to skate circles around the big, heavy, mean (and arguably dirty) Cats. With home ice advantage, Rod can make the matchups he wants. Just need to keep the home winning streak going.
All the glazing the networks did for the Caps is gonna continue for Florida; get used to it folks, we're always gonna be "analytics darlings" and not an actual team to the majority of commentators
There are 3 things you can count on…. death, taxes, and Aho entering the zone and rarely looking for a shot. I get wanting to facilitate, but he has too good a shot to not keep that goalie honest
Oh, and to hell with the national media… even in the cup year it was all about the oilers and what they weren't doing and needed to do.
