My team didn't even make the playoffs, was a really disappointing year, but we never showed our players that kid of disrespect. Arena half empty mid-way thru the 3rd in a playoff game? WTH guys?

The team is built wrong for the modern cap era. It's easy to shut down the "superstars" with a focused fore check. They have nothing else. Management is the entire problem. Shanahan and Dubas made serious mistakes when they acquired the so-called "core". They didn't draft what the team needed, they drafted elitism. The profile of a successful playoff team is balanced – high end puck moving D, high end defensive RD, high end goalie, a real power forward, a power play specialist or high end defensive specialist, 2 dominate centres who play 200 foot games and can dominate on the boards. The centres don't have to be 100+ point guys. The Leafs are a lopsided mess.

When I was watching the game I didn't realize Steve literally yelled that goal into existence.
For starters I think Matthew's wrist injury is acting up again and probably has been playing with it since the playoffs started. It is hard to score with a bad wrist. Ask a cook how he is going to flip the eggs with no spatula. I also think having the "C" on his chest is affecting his play like it obviously affected Tavares play. Without the "C" on his chest Tavares has had his best season with the Leafs and now Matthews has to deal with all that BS of being a Captain. Should make one of the D men the Captain but not Morgan Reilly as he sucks at defense. As for Marner yes, he sucks to high heaven and always sucks in the playoffs past game 4 of any series he has been in. He disappears in games 5, 6, 7 and he can not play a physical game and often misses defensive assignments and continues to make stupid no look drop passes to the other team that usually ends up in the Toronto net. He has had this problem his entire career and yet no coach can make him play a smarter game with less turn overs. Marner is not coachable obviously, he just does whatever he wants to which is usually avoiding any physical play whatsoever. If someone is hitting him, he does not even fight back. He just lets the other player continue to hit him thinking the ref will save him every time. That is what you call a PUSSY. No team can win with a pussy on the top line or a D man (Reilly) that has no clue how to play defense. They have 4 good lines, good defense, ok back up goalie but if Stollarz was never injured I bet it would be 3 – 2 for Toronto now. Hilarious that the only Leaf to score in the last two games is Robertson who they had sitting out the entire series. A team should not need any motivation from the coach in a series tied at 2 in game 5. If players need motivation to get up for that then they are not hockey players.
Also please do not say Woll is doing good when he has sucked in every game except the game 4, 2- 0 loss when he stood on his head but again the forwards did not show up. All of the other 4 games Woll has been in he has a terrible combined 4.5 goals against average and an .860 save percentage. pathetic.

Marner is making a big mistake too with his terrible non emotional game he is playing when his contract is up in July. Other teams see what he is doing and will not want to pay him anywhere near 13 million he wants.
