As long as players like this are allowed to play and do not even receive suspensions, the league's so-called concussion protocols are window dressing and no more.
If DOPS won't do anything about Bennet it's most likely the players will. Which is ironic since DOPS tries to prevent players from getting hurt, but instead this will result in more injuries (most likely). Bennet is a loser and an embarrassment to his teammates (except Tkachuk who is also a mega loser).

1. You cannot prove that what Bennett did was intentional. If Stolarz wasn’t hurt, this wouldn’t even be talked about.
2. Saying Matthews is slowing Knies down is a wild take. I’m not too sure if Matthews will ever get people off his back unless he scores a goal per game in the playoffs. F the stats, watch the amount of emphasis that Ottawa put on Matthews and id love to see who else is scoring under that

The scumbag move is the pitchfork mob thinking Bennett wasn't playing the puck because they're too emotionally unhinged. If any other player makes this play nobody's batting an eye. Biased take for sure.
How is this called an elbow? That's just as much of an elbow as low orbit is space. Stolly's mask starts moving and you can see Bennett's elbow. That was a punch, it's not shocking Bennett checks by punching it's been seen a few times, there's even a screenshot proving it.
I wouldn't surprise me if Stolarz was out for the season. Shortly after the elbow to Stolarz's head, I saw a video that was taken from behind and to the right of Bennet. It clearly showed Bennet position his arm and then whack Stolarz in the head. Since this time I saw this video, I haven't seen it again. I don't know why. Clearly, a lot of Leaf fans haven't seen the video I'm talking about. all the other videos I've seen make it appear like it was a big deal, whereas the one video I'm speaking about shows that it is. I'm glad the coach caught it. Bennet did it on purpose and should be suspended. Woll can back up in a pinch but Stolarz is clearly the better goalie. I'd go as far as to say that he is the Leaf's most important player. No suspension reminds of of organizations like Stamepede Wrestling or Roller derby. SMH

According to Dr Chris Nowinski, that may have been the moment Stolarz suffered a concussion—not during Bennett’s hit.
“Update: Anthony Stolarz likely suffered a first concussion 5 minutes into the game when he took a puck to the face that knocked his mask off,” Nowinski wrote. “25 seconds after the hit he did a SHAAKE (Spontaneous Headshake After a Kinematic Event), which predicts concussion 72% of the time.”

If the head contact is the main point of contact and deemed avoidable, a minor penalty for an illegal check to the head can be assessed.
If the contact is deemed reckless or intentional and endangers the goalie, a major penalty and game misconduct or even a match penalty could be assessed.

This is why Florida does well in the playoffs. They are incredibly dirty and will sacrifice a game or a major penalty to take out key players early in a playoff series. Intentionally hurting an opponent should result in a suspension until that player returns

Creative editing in order to push a biased headline..true Canadian media. Could you maybe, just maybe, show the puck hitting Stolarz well before the elbow?….Stolarz had his bell rung, but stayed in the game. There is no way the training staff did not know. The elbow by Bennett was not enough to cause the reaction he had…period. Maybe ECK should try being honest, and not a fanboy.
I love your content. But this was not a dirty hit. I think people forget how fast paced games are, and all theses players care about, is winning, which means get that puck into the net by any means necessary. I do think he drove the net pretty aggressively. But unfortunately that’s part of the sport. So many players have made their entire careers off being crease goblins. Driving the net, making goalies mad. I think it’s not helping that it was Bennet. So automatically if anyone is remotely hurt in a sequence involving him, it will be slowed down, zoomed in on, and analyzed over and over for the next week.
