  1. Thankfully we don’t need to worry about Hughes wouldn’t take Rossi if they sent him for a 7th rounder. They want size, or, at least, no more smurfs.

  2. Talk about a ridiculous trade proposed by joe schmo with 65 followers no one has ever heard of. completely divorced from reality.
Then report on it like it was reality and watch the clicks pour in.
Why would anyone here comment on the non trade as if it were anything but a way for these two jackasses to pass their lean summer months?

  3. We need an established NHL centre for our 2C. Ideally the person would be no older than 27/28 with size and a track record of scoring goals at the NHL level. Teams on the downside of their contention and teams who are several years from realistically contending are places where Hughes may be able find such a centre. Or maybe a team that is a playoff disappointment wanting to shake the team by trading a regular. The "trick" will be to convince teams the are winning the trade because of all the draft picks and "potential" they are getting for one person.

  4. Habs defense is set for years with Hutson, Guhle, Arber, Reinbacher, Mailloux, and Engstrom… same in the net. Habs have got to get scoring and some punch up front.

  5. Reinbacher is big, but with zero agressivity. He could be 7 feet tall, if you don’t engage, your size doesn’t count.

  6. They never said they wanted size, they want compete, we have players that are 6'4 like dach laine and armia, who are all soft, id rather a 5'11" player who isnt afraid to go in the corner and hit people. size is over rated if the player doesnt use it.

  7. You guys do great work and it’s practically every day so it’s understandable…. But this is the most ridiculous report you’ve addressed in a while. Trading Reino for Rossi is pure idiocy

  8. The only young 2c I would want to pay big for is Mctavish from Anaheim. I would want to do one stop shopping with the Flames. Kadri & Anderson. You get your 2c and a top 4 Right handed D. Or look to Boston for Zacha 6'4 215lbs

  9. Trading Reinbacher for Rossi sounds like the kind of massive mistake MB would go for… Rossi isn't even a good fit.
Our new 2C needs to have some size with a physical edge, he has to be a 200 foot player, and he needs to be good on the draw…. someone like Bo Horvat would be a perfect fit other than the fact he's 30 and I want an early to mid 20 version of him 😉
I still see Reinbacher as a future top pair RHD with huge upside and I think he is a great fit for both Guhle or Hutson depending if you want him in a shutdown role (with Guhle) or as the D first partner for Lane – it would take a lot bette and bigger player than Rossi to pry Reinbacher from me – I don't even think I'd do Mailloux for Rossi (and Reinbacher has a lot more value than Logan does)… 😉

  10. sidenote – what do you guys think it would cost for a blockbuster with the Islanders to target both Bo Horvat & Noah Dobson?
Both 1st rounders, Logan Mailloux, a NHL ready prospect like Beck or Kapenen, maybe a roster player as well, and what else do I need to add to get them to bite without giving away any core pieces 😉
I don't think they'd want guys like MM or Dach or Laine in the return, which is why I give up some younger guys I don't want to trade but would be willing for the right return…

PS – Ideally we find someone a tad younger than Bo for our 2C role, but I see Bo as the best plan B option and I've struggled to find an early to mid 20 year old that checks all the boxes that we could potentially trade for… I'd love to add Noah Dobson to our D-core as an immediate help that will have long term value, but 2C is the bigger priority so without Bo, I probably don't go all-in on Noah….
    Thoughts?

  11. You can’t go into a playoff series with 2 top small centres. We would get killed every year in the playoffs. Just look at how easy Caps pushed us around .

  12. I would target the Islanders. Horvat and Dobson for Mailloux, Beck, Primeau's rights, both of our 1st round picks this year. This year's second and next year's second. If we need to throw in another prospect (excluding Reinbacher, Fowler, Hage or brother Florian) to get her done, do that, too. Islanders needed prospects, and if they're going to retool, they won't need their top center nor their top right playing D-man in the next few seasons.

  13. Well about the "rumors"… its gonna be wild till draft day… the habs have everything to go after anybody… so the only thing that would prevent any trade to happen would the willingless of that team to part ways with the player…

  14. Trade for Rossi. I'm not convinced DR can stay healthy and we have enough defenders. He may be short but he can score.

  15. If you can trade Reinbacher for McTavish or Lafrenière, I'm all about it but for Rossi??? Getting a big talented guy for a big fragile guy is a win tho

  16. One 1st pick and Mailloux if we trade.. we need to keep 1 of those picks.. there’s too much talent in Nesbitt, Lakovic, Spence, Potter, Cootes to get rid of both
