  1. He is of that breed of players that have a vision of the ice which pemits his uncanny anticipation. Doubled with his knowledge of thebodily balance of his immediate opposition he simply exploits their momentum and goes elsewhere; Very much
like gretsky, he also has the moves.Lafleur was faster and skated and stickhandled with such speed he could deke better than any of them, but Hutson has a combination of skills that make him unpredictable because he understands all of his options. He is more like Gretsky than any other,. His control behind his own net is like Gretsky in the opposite end, impossible to go after.

  2. I saw Gretzky charge up the ice,,,and without turning his hips… change into skating backwarda. It looked like he was doing the freakin Michael Jackson moon walk. The whole crowd said "OOOHHH!". It went from full boar charge to slow motion.. truly amazing. No one new what to say. The announcers, the fans. The players were dumfounded. I will never forget what i saw that night.

  3. Hi from Quebec, Montreal fan since 1970, Yvan Cournoyer was my favorite player. His acceleration and speed was top 3 in the NHL. One of the most complete player of his time. very powerful wrist shot and great play maker. His speed bursts was something to see, a bit like McDavid.

  4. Watched the NHL from the early 50's, was a Montreal fan and saw all of the great ones from the modern era of hockey, that being post WW2.

What the GOATS had of their time period that made them special is that one second of faster processing speed they had when playing the game.

One second made not sound like a lot but it really is in a sport like hockey

They all made decisions faster than the players on the ice they were going up against. That one second has a cumulative effect on a play, as the star moves that one second becomes two and three, leaving the opposing players way behind.

All the great ones could skate fast and turn on dimes. Acceleration was a key component.

They used the hockey stick like a musical instrument knowing full well what it could do for them.

They all have this unusual confidence in their ability to be the hero in every game they played.

When packaging all these attributes into one player made them the GOATS of their time period.

Lane Hutson is a budding GOAT and nothing less than a generational player, once he gains about 30 pounds this guy will fill stadiums just to watch him play.

  5. I’m 53 grew up watching Lafleur, Lemieux, Gretzky etc. The thing that Hutson has in common is the ability to bring you out of your seat! He has the ability to change the game on any shift

  6. He's the best passer in a long time, I call him Laser Hutson, he has a laser of a pass. Lane the laser Hutson.
