TSN Hockey analyst Frankie Corrado joins SC with Jay Onrait to share his thoughts on the Lightning’s complaint about Aaron Ekblad’s hit on Brandon Hagel that went unpenalized in Game 4, and if the Panthers should be considered the favourite in the East if their third line can keep rolling.

That looked like a WWE finishing move
cats been getting away with this garbage for years….
Officiating has been fucking horrible all playoffs, ever game so many m8ssed calls
Champs are the champs until someone buries them..
He had it coming you don't touch Barkov.
Forget this one play. What the absolute fuck has happened to the quality of officiating? It has completely tanked in the last few years. It's getting quite hard to watch.
ELBOWS UP
…he got what he deserved…when you hit our captain in game 2 you KNOW you got it comin’…it’s hockey…STOP being soft like the NBA
Morgan Reilly got 5 for a headshot to Grieg. No call on zub vs Tavares headshot, no call on ekblad vs hagle headshot. Hagle knows hits are coming his way but I thought the leageu had a serious stance on this. Dops and Bettman are a joke
They had a 5 minute major and didn’t score in the 3rd, that’s purely why the lost.
This is the problem with the whole “swallowing the whistles“ during the playoffs, I guess it’s rough and tough hockey but I’d almost rather consistent calls, but the refs just seem to get worse here after year and they’re absolutely free from scrutiny from the public, I don’t understand why
Refs have been off all series. Lundell got his teeth rearranged in the 3rd with a high stick and no whistle. Bad officiating has gone both ways.
Professional sport during the season, playoff starts and rule book out the window. Completely idiotic. If only refs had some consistancy. But know, looking at this, looking at cross checking to the face, no calls. Than calling soft ones. We should call them game managers instead of referees. But obviously they are unable to manage properly. Just call the game !!!
The NHL are letting their players down. They need more protection from high hits.
By round 3 there will be no player's left at this rate
Nfl refs😡🤬🤬
I realize I'm in the minority here but I think it was a clean hit. Ever since the NHL put out that video explaining why the Whitecloud hit on Knies was legal, it's the measuring stick I've been using for head contact, and to me, that Whitecloud hit was worse than this one by Ekblad. Ekblad uses his forearm, not a flying elbow, for the hit, and drives through Hagel's body. I don't like it but it's legal based on what I've seen. Of course, Gary can change the rules at any time, so whatever.
It was a playoff hit. WTFU! Stop trying to turn the intensity down. Bugger off! 😝
roid rage.
Hagel was nasty with Sasha ,so he deserved
Clean hit. He never hits his head, he contacts his collarbone. Hagel’s head bounced off the ice is what rocked him. Cry more.
It's easy to fix games when officiating is garbage. Easy fix. Just don't call blatant penalties.
It was forearm to chin from a defender much larger than Hagel, while Hagel is slouching down by the boards. Not elbow to crown or fist to face. Not many other places Ekblad can hit on Hagel in that situation. Hagel has plenty of time and awareness to know Ekblad is there and is a larger force than he is.
Referee is looking right at them. Obviously they’re being instructed to let everything go except lifting a players stick which is called every time.
Ekblad is a Todd Bertuzzi type of criminal on skates. Look up ''Ekblad chokehold Boucahrd''. This is a sack of dirt in a NHL jersey and he should be banned of playing in the league.
Knowing that he didn't get penalized last night we were told the hockey department player association supposed to meet with him today and they say he will be suspended for three games without pay for that hit and they will make up their mind around 2:00 Eastern Time in Tampa their meeting with Tampa Bay Lightning and they're saying that lightning has the final say the word if he gets to spend it or not and they say yeah we want him suspended for three games without pay so anybody that's a Florida panther fan out there I feel bad for your guys guy Because he's suspended for three games without pay or plus to hear it at 2:00 Eastern Time the meetings going on right now and we'll hear it probably about about 2:45 and they're in a meeting right now and we'll hear from the league around 2:45 when he'll be suspended for three games without pay for his hit on Brandon Hagel and I was just leave it as that and we're told that Aaron Ekblad is supposed to meet with the department of player safety and possibly suspended for three games without pay for that nasty hit what he did last night and Florida Panthers in their stadium and I hate your Florida panther guy gets suspended but it is what it is.? @chrislaverick6413
Clean
If NHL needs to hold accountability on the hit by Ekblad in the 2nd per. of game 4.
The NHL favours the Panthers against all other teams
The NHL is a joke. How is the referee looking straight at it not calling a penalty?
So he gets suspended for 20 games for PEDs and on his first game back he delivers a direct shot to the head and no consequence. Toxic culture anyone?
NHL should be ashamed. This was disgusting and Tkachuk and Ekblad should both have been out of the game. The steroid junkie should be banned from the NHL.
If you have played hockey at any level you would not even waste your time talking about the refs. Just get on with it, play your best.
So if DOPS gives Ekblad a 2 game suspension why did refs not call a penalty?
There were 2 refs in clear camera view both looking at the play and yet neither saw it?
Now not giving Ekblad the penalty could have changed the outcome of the game.
Why does the DOPS then not contact Bettman and say hey bud look this video and talk to those refs!!!
Hagel is lucky Ekblad got off the Roids.
So hagel can’t do an illegal hit but exblad can elbow him in the face with no penalty makes sense…
