It has NEVER been more clear…
It has never been more clear as to what the Boston Bruins need to do in this year’s NHL draft with their seventh overall pick. And it is going to have to be correct. We’re going to be breaking it all down here in this video, going over the necessary needs, what they’re going to do, and what options they have here in this draft, as well as why we’re going to be looking at this here at the draft. We’re going to be bringing it all down here in this video, like I mentioned. But before we get into it, be sure to hit the sub button if you haven’t already. We know that just over 75% of you guys watching right now are not subscribed to the channel. If you’re looking for a spot for all of your Boston Bruins news, you’re in the right spot. Hit the sub button. Join me here on the channel. We’re covering everything Boston Bruins as we head towards free agency and the NHL draft with a hopeful Boston Bruins team that are going to be looking to make a major splash with their rebuild. So, let’s get right into it. And I think it’s been pretty evident the Boston Bruins need to fill out the center gaps that they have on the team in this year’s draft. the possibilities of players coming from major boom or bust potential NHL players to some that are superstar bound. The Bruins have a great option at number seven overall. And I wanted to pull up a little graphic that we have here going over tier one, tier two, and the rest of the center groups for the Boston Bruins in this year’s NHL draft. Now, we’ll look at Michael Misa. We had him on our list before. We saw the Bruins be interested in him. But now that they move down from fifth to seventh, where they were fourth during the season, that likely has gone out the window. There’s possibilities that the Bruins trading up, which we’re going to kind of dive into a little bit here later in this video. But it’s still a very, very steep hill to climb when Michael Misa likely will be going at second overall, potentially first with the Islanders getting the first overall pick. But we have tier two, which we saw the Bruins really heavily invested in when it comes to these three names here in tier 2 when they were at fifth overall pick. Keep in mind that now there is a lot of teams ahead of them looking for centers. But James Haggins from Boston College, a player that has been kind of moving up in these lists as of lately. A lot of teams looking potential at a number three overall, a two overall. We’ve seen him move up drastically in the last little while. And he’s a bit of a question mark there with the Bruins once again not being able to go out and reach him. But Anton Fondell, a player who’s compared to Alexander Barov, a great centerman and one the Boston Bruins are going to try and mimic to get and replace of Patrice Berseron a few years after he’s retired. And that’s one thing that the Bruins have really come out and said that they’re looking for a center that can do everything. They’ve been trying to look for one that can do defense, can play offense, good in the faceoffs, can power play, can do the penalty kill, someone who’s an all-around unit. And Anton Fondell, I I fully believe is the most ready to be that player in this draft when it comes to the center position. There are, of course, some other very sneaky players, but right now we have to kind of take a look at this. Now, Caleb Denoier is kind of where we’re floating the territory now of being a center that the Bruins are able to get at their current position. And as I mentioned, possible trade up could happen. We could see an Anton Fondell depending on how heavy the Bruins are on them because we know that Don Sweeney and Cam Neely have verbalized that they are going to be looking very intensively at everybody that they can get. They may have to make a move to get to what they want, but they know that number seven overall is definitely a pick that you cannot miss on. That’s what Don Sweeney had said in his recent interview in his recent press conference that they need to get this done at the draft lottery. So looking at Caleb Denoier, he is a player that is in this at least this percentage more NHL ready than a few other players. And this comes from Tankathon. They have their NHL percentage on the right and a 34.9 as you see is a little bit above a few other players there. Michael Misa 54.6 goes to show how good he is. And when we’re looking at another name, Jacob O’Brien that we’ll jump into later, he is one very interesting as well that I covered in yesterday’s video. So be sure to check that out if you haven’t already. But we have another name in Roger McQueen is the part of the or the first I should say under the rest of that center is not in tier 2 as he does play a little bit everywhere on the forward side of things. But a 65 192 center. This is very reminiscent of a player they drafted last year in Dean Leto who is there but has ne definitely not had the season that the Bruins have wanted to in Boston College. And I believe fully that they do not want to have a miss. They want someone who can come into the lineup right away, make an impact because when we’re looking down the middle, it is very, very dry and very, very shallow. So, looking at this, we’re going to have to uh take a deeper dive here in a few moments. Now, going on as well to the full first round projection from Tankathon, you see Michael Misa there at number two. Porter Marton, a player that can drop. Although, when we’re looking at him, the Boston Bruins are looking for more of a center as I mentioned, but if dropped to seven, you know, that’s almost one you have to take. Then James Haggins at four and Ton Fell at five, Taylor Denway at six with Victor Eken the left winger at seventh. Now I still see that possibility there. I still see it. But as I mentioned as well in last video, there’s a lot of players the Bruins currently have that are the exact same play style as Victor Ecklund and we don’t need any more of those. When looking at as well the four, five, and six, there goes three centers back to back to back and then Roger McQueen, Jacob Ryan immediately after. This is a very centerheavy draft. However, all of them or the majority of the best are being taken right away, which is something that the Bruins really got the short end of the stick on with this draft lottery moving down from fifth to seventh. But this is where the trade comes in. If you see a team, maybe the Predators, maybe the the the Flyers that, you know, are not going to take a center one. You move up with them. The Bruins have a few picks that they can dangle out there. When we’re looking at the rest of it, they have two seconds this year, two first next year, two seconds in 2027, and all the remainder of their picks this year. There are options that the Bruins could use to maybe dangle a few picks there, move up a place or two, then go out and get the guy they want. And that’s what we’re expecting. We’re expecting Don Sweeney, the Bruins to make the move that they believe is the right one, the move that they know will have to work and something the fans cannot be mad at. And that’s where the first five, four, four, five centers really come into play here. So, let me know what you think about this. First of all, you okay or comfortable, I should say, with moving up in this draft. Maybe they’ll pick a Anton Frontel, maybe pick a James Haggin, Caleb Denway, I think the possibility is there of him dropping, although we know that a lot of these teams here need some centers. So, let me know what you think about that. But when we do go and look at the Bruins center depth right now, Lindholm, Zaka, Middlestad, Minton, you have Matt Poatra there on the right, Mark Castelik, John Beecher with the uncertainty of him, his future with this team as he is an expiring contract. It’s a lot of uncertainty regarding the depth. We saw Lindm really heat up at the end of last season, not at all throughout the season. We need that next year. Balvazaka playing majority left wing uh or I should say quite a bit of left wing with majority center this year but depends on what is going to happen with him. There’s still a bunch of other possibilities. You have Casey Middlestat who the Bruins definitely want to get back into his potential back to where he’s supposed to be. Frasier Mitten definitely going to crack the lineup this year whether he plays winger or center still uncertain. And Matt Potra the uncertainty of him staying healthy is another big cause for the Bruins trying to get a young centerman and that’s when this draft comes into play. So, we’re looking at the remainder of I should say, you know, the AHL players. You have so many there. Georgian Merllo, uh I should yeah, you know, John Feron, Riley Durant, Har Brett Harrison, Jackson Nelson, Trevor Hunter, Densmelis, you know, so many other centers, but none of these have that possibility or potential at least of being that number one center. The Bruins have really not done a good job developing a lot of these players. I expect some of these at least to try and make a debut next season with the Bruins having to earn a spot, not be given, is what Don Sween’s been saying. So there’s uncertainty there and when I when we go back to the prospects as well as I mentioned the Loa Trello a 67 center who there was a big reach I would say from the Bruins standpoint 25th overall was around his projection but there was a lot of work that needed to be done with him so we’re looking at him as a a few years away but we also have a guy Williams one of the best trades I’ve seen in a long time for Charlie Coyle he’s going to be an elite center or you know forward at least when he comes to this lineup still depending on whether or not the you know the Bruins when he does come into the lineup in a couple years will play on the wing in in the middle. There’s still a lot of uncertainty there. But when he comes and plays next season, we’re going to see a lot from these guys. You also have a guy in Oscar Yelvic who really has that big potential boost this year that we’re all excited to see. And you know, even when it comes to these prospects though, you don’t have that possibility just within the next year or two of being a number one or number two center. So that’s why this draft is so important. That’s why it’s never been more evident that the Bruins need to draft a center. So let me know in the comments below what you want to see in this draft. Do you want to see a tradeup? Do you want to see a pick? If so, who it is, what do you think? And you I need to know your plan in the comments below. If you were GM of the Boston Marines right now, let me know what you think. That’s all I got in this video. If you did enjoy, give it a like. Hit the sub button as well. I’m signing up though. Thank you for watching. Hope you have a great day. See you later.

That draft lottery was a complete joke.
McQUEEN ,,MARTONE,,, MARTIN
I would for sure want Hagans or Deloyer (spell) haha. So I'd talk to other gms above u. Just ask them to level with u. Who their interests are. If u can trade up to ensure u get the guy u need, do it.
They got porked at the lottery. Is what it is.
The one thing I would like to see Sweeney do is stop it with the love affair he has for American players, especially defenseman. Aside from McAvoy they are puppy poo soft for the most part.
I'll take a beer basher with no teeth over any of the Americans they have. John Beecher is a bust, I was hoping Oliver Wahlstrom was going to flourish here but for a kid with a wicked shot he has ZERO hockey sense. Lysell is a waste of ice time, he's a poor mans Kessel. Hates to play the Bruins system. Both of them will be in Sweden within two years.
Yes the Bruins need a center, they also need a coach from outside that has zero ties at all to Boston.
Hopefully Sweeney can move up in the draft, what it takes, who knows?
Unfortunately the pick is a BIG if. The Bruins scouting department of the last 10 years has been as bad as the Bruins scouts of the nineties so until they hit a homerun there is little to no trust in this management group to pick the right players.
Sweeney is an excellent in season GM and has a sack at the deadline, he just flat out sucks at drafting and free agent signings.
The draft lottery was amazing this year. I'm so happyBoston dropped 2 spots. God bless from Montreal.
At 7 I feel the question is O’Brien who might fit what the need or Martin who is the player they might want.
Problem with this entire video is that the rankings aren't accurate. They are just one places opinion. Css has O'Brien 4th ahead of Martone, desnoyers, etc. so moving any assets to move up is a waste. When you make these sweeping judgements based solely on what tankathon says it's completely flawed.
I just hope they are fully prepared if a trade doesn’t develop or someone falls. Be locked in to an order and don’t just fall in love with who you think might be there or whom you might get in a trade.
Minnesota Bruins fan wow
Barring the Bruins moving up, if I'm the Bruins at #7, I'd draft best overall player, regardless of position. A center to develop into hoping a number 1 guy would be nice, but at #7, I'm not so sure one will be left. I've heard Brady Martin turned a lot of heads at U18, so maybe he's an option. But if the consensus high rated centers are gone, I'm going for best available.
we still project to take Martone which I think is fine
I will never watch that joke that’s called the draft lottery again. The bruins are going to screw this up if if ever there was Zach Hamill scenario this just might be it.
Eklund , Martin , McQueen
I’m hoping for O’Brein but wouldn’t be mad at McQueen. Would get to see McQueen in Brandon
I could also see them trading down. pick up more draft capital.
WTF are you even talking about at the 3:20–3:31 mark?
NHLe is NHL points equivalent based on league adjustment, not the an NHL percentage likelihood… The stat is taking a historic transition from CHL & NCAA leagues of scoring numbers and translating it to what they'd produce at the NHL level in a similar deployment under ideal circumstances (ie top line minutes, PP1 deployment etc). The Swedish system doesn't translate well, which is why Frondell doesn't have a number listed in the NHLe column.
If you're going to use a graphic, do yourself a favour – google the definition of terms you don't understand… You come off as lost about the pre-draft scouting analytics when you make up a wrong interpretation of a number like you did here. Talk about your interpretation of a player's style, comparables, the intent of management based on pressers – cool, no issues here as its clear to your viewers… But don't make stuff up. It really gets in the way of me giving you a subscription when I have a better idea of what the images you're using imply that you do…
Edit: fixed a typo.
Clear as mud
Shout out to a fellow Newfie, great content, keep it up.
If they could possibly pull off a trade to move up to get the best possible center available, I think they should go for it. This team hasn't done a good job of trying to get center depth to replace Bergeron and Krejci.
It's ok. Don't panic…
Brady, Brady, Brady. Those are the choices.
I can see it happening already. Sweeney at the mike “with the seventh pick the Bruins select Tataki Tacoma from the Japanese rollerskating league”.
Hagens is too small
If we move up, go for Frondell or Desnoyers, if they stay where there at, gotta get Jake obrien or Brady Martin.
if i were GM of the Bruins i'd take Justin Carbonneau-the best scorer at 7 and could even trade down a pick or two and still get him.then package two 2nd rounders to go back up in the first and take jake o'neill.
I want Jake O'Brien, but think the Bruins will pick Viktor Eklund.
Desnoyers is going top three… he is ripping up the Q in the playoffs. three weeks ago – I thought he was the logical choice.. but he will be off the board at pick 7. I also wish Sweeney would stop picking Boston College players. Change it up a bit.
