Matthews is 27th in playoff p/gp with a whopping 2 goals scored this post season. He has all of 3 goals in his last 20 playoff games combined! Yes he's #1 in regular season goals since his rookie season, but he's 43rd in playoff goals during that time. Perhaps worst of all, #34 is actually declining in playoff goal production as he enters his prime. He was at .5 goals per GP from 22-23, but he's down to .33 playoff goals per GP since. Dude is a choker and no amount of excuses will change that.

Worst game so far.
NHL is compromised. Just not the way you think it would be. Referees have to much power to swing the game with missed calls. Worst of all, they get all the media to all say it is all part of the playoff game, and you have people buying into that narrative. I am here today today to say to all fans do not buy into it no more. We want a fair game for all parties. Not referees demoralizing players at will, by cherry picking calls, that are made. You all know what to do. Start buy complaining en masse as fans and media.

This is probably one of the best offensive leafs teams in history. The only affliction they have is inconsistency and the inability to play as a team when it matters. We need greasy goals, we need to screen and we need to make them pay up on the powerplays. Zero excuses at this point.

It was extremely selfish of Matthews to go to the Four Nations tournament! He's been nursing some type of injury all season and definitely should have used that time to rest; also, Toronto should not have allowed him to go!
Injuries are still no excuse for his lacklustre offensive performance!
And, why does Matthews almost always seem to have a chronic injury?? Something isn't right with that situation.

The Leafs were definitely flat in game 3 but you gotta wonder if the frustration of Floridaâs repeated headshots, vicious crosschecks, and other intents to injure are getting to them. They clearly realize they have bullseyes painted on them and League has declared open hunting season to the Panthers.

As a hockey fan, I am struck by the comparison between Matthews and Aaron Judge thus far. Record-breaking regular season, heartbreaking postseason. Let's hope Matthews can right the ship for the leafs.

The wholeâ âthey were never gonna sweep themâ theory is so stupid..I heard the same when they played the Sens..so by that logic youâre saying the reason they didnât score on the 4 minute PP up 3-0 in the series was because a sweep wasnât going to happenâŠsame here vs the Panthers when they were up by 2 goals twice and up 2-0 in the series, Nylander was NEVER gonna score on that partial breakaway because the Leafs were never gonna sweep the Panthers..there have been massive underdogs that have swept heavy favourites before in the past so please stop using that stupid saying.
