As a relatively new NHL follower, I've seen many famous pairings/offensive line that get along pretty well and talking about McKinnon/Rantanen it is clear to me that both are big players profiting from their skills. I won't judge if one is profiting from one another but the moment Mikko has had the chance to shine with his new teammates that shows his own class !!
to me they are both Elite players that could and have done well without each other and each did so before they were even together ro begin with. I'll never understand how these days people are always so dismissive about a player's accomplishments. That Stanley Cup winning Avs team was one of the most talented rosters ever put together. Lets not forget guys like Kadri, Artturi Lehkonen, Valeri Nichushkin who decided that playoff run to finally meet the expectations he was given when drafted by Dallas years earlier, Devon Toews, Makar, etc. In my opinion great players will always be great no matter where they go. When Gretzky went to the Kings he was still great, Messier went to New York still great, Patrick Kane goes to Detroit and he is one of their best producers right now. It is what it is. Rantanen is one of the best players in the NHL
