Should the Edmonton Oilers Keep Connor McDavid and Jeff Skinner together? | Oilers Update
their forward lines in that hockey game they actually kept them relatively consistent the trio of Conor Brown Leon dry Sidle and Cory Perry played 725 together at five on five uh NJ aritz and PUD coulsen played together for 549 then McDavid Henry Ka and played 439 the only thing that really wasn’t consistent was just who the fourth line was going on the ice with like I’ll look I’ll let me pull up Jeff Skinner’s linemate report from uh from that game because he was bouncing around quite a bit so Jeff Skinner played the time with Conor McDavid at 513 casber Captain was second and then he played 243 with Yan Mark so they basically just didn’t really want to play Max Jones in that hockey game and were using Conor MC and they had Yan Mark basically on the wing and they were basically double shifting McDavid and dry Sidle throughout the game but I will say McDavid and Skinner looked really really good together and this goes back and this is the frustration I have with being here on game 67 going Connor and Jeff Skinner look pretty good together why was this not sort out in January when you had an inconsequential run of games where you should have just said you know what Jeff things aren’t going great for you but we’re going to believe in you and that guy is the best hockey player on the planet granted not having his best season but he’s the most skilled hockey player on the planet we’re just going to force you guys to put their stalls next to each other in the bleeping locker room and say you get five games together and figure it out and if they can do that then you know what you have the point now is every game matters so much the coach doesn’t really still fully trust Jeff Skinner all that much even though he goes out and plays good games and does good things but there’s this glimpse of potential with the two of them and again against the Rangers let me just pull up that that linemate chart again they played 513 together shot attempts 9-4 Shots 4 to1 expected goals were 68 to .13 like that’s significant against uh the Islanders they didn’t play as long together it was 255 so tou shy they were outshot their opponents two nothing expected goals wasn’t anything but they uh a positive sign for sure I I thought they did well I thought Jeff skna played relatively well when he was in the lineup on drawing penalties yeah did a good job was very pissed off yesterday when he took that one penalty cuz that was an like the replay that they showed on sportset literally showed like two guys getting cross checked within two seconds of each other called and I was like we’re calling that one that’s Jeff Skinner a Jeff sorry Jeff what’s up Nation citizens if you like that video then you need to be subscribed to the Oilers Nation YouTube podcast live shows exclusive interviews and Analysis everything you need from your favorite voices at Oilers nation and you don’t want to miss any of it so hammer that subscribe button
Jeff Skinner has had a very up and down year for the Edmonton Oilers. However he has shown flashes of brilliance and recently it has been beside the Oilers star Connor McDavid.
Today, Tyler and Liam talked about the success the two of them shared against the Rangers and ask the question, should they stick together?
Where do you think is the best spot for Jeff Skinner?

Knoblach is a good coach. But he has a blind spot about Jeff Skinner. Focuses on his defensive weaknesses which Skinner has worked on. But coach can't seem to appreciate Skinner's offensive abilities on a roster that really needs much more of that on the wing. It's a mystery…
Stubborn coach.
How is brown better with 29 – look at the numbers. Perry yes but not for 90 second shifts.
Give skinner a real chance in the top 6.
The others are slower and older …
I feel like I’ve been saying they should put him with mcdavid for forever now lol. Hope to see more of it
Skinner has improved. Solid numbers with mcdavid. Ardvissson was good wih mcdavid ans skinner for that one minute together. Created one penalty and 3 high danger chances to 0. However ardvisson looks like he has something with rmh.

Yes,because you don’t have time to figure chemistry out any more. Keep the lines consistent.
