McDavid collision with Stone – Tough Call Review

Connor McDavid missed picking up a pass. He then got tangled up with Mark Stone. Some say it should have been interference.

  1. This isn’t a tough call at all. It’s a collision that looked unintentional on both ends, nobody got hurt, and neither of them seemed to care

  2. It's not tough at all stupid star gets away with everything makes me sick double standard it was a pick by Mc stupid!!!!

  3. Nah this one's chill, as an oilers fan. McD stopped to get the puck, incidental contact here.

  4. Looks to me like McDavid missed the pass and saw Stone barreling down on it and ran interference by making sure he was in Stones way. Penalty all day long. Easy call.

  5. I read the comments and obviously many of you have never played hockey. Without being a whiner, this should have been called for interference. Stone knew exactly what he was doing and climb over McDavid’s back to make sure that after the initial hit, he would hinder him from returning to play. That’s what’s called interference. If you look at games with the Florida Panthers, you can see that the Panthers are doing it all the time. Players without the pucks are hindered in their skating towards the zone, or returning from the zone and are slowed down by the Panthers. It is so obvious, yet no calls from the NHL referees. It takes away from the game, like hooking many years ago.

  6. When nothing at all happened it is hardly a tough call. I have seen things closer to a penalty in the pre-game warmup.

  7. My take? 2 minutes to McJesus for interference. Stone was going for the loose puck and McJesus interfered with him. End of story.
