At the risk of stating the obvious, the leafs let this one get away. Had Stolarz been in net he would have stopped three out of four goals especially Panther's 4th goal and possibly the OT goal because of his size.

Nosen goes head first into the net … pokes his head up like a mole to take a quick look then drops down like he is near death. Panthers go nuts and start pushing and swinging. Compare that to the "we will beat them on the scoreboard" response from the Leafs when Stolaz was head blasted by a well known convict. The Panthers are your typical school yard bullies. They will continue to cheap shot after cheap shot so long a bettman's referees continue to carry out his mandate for a US win or the Leats find a spare set of testicles and stand up for themselves. At this point both seem highly unlikely. This is going to turn into a Panther win and then every seasonal fan is going to moan, piss, whimper and cry about the core 4, how they should have done this, how they should have done that. Real Leaf fans have seen this script many times before. Such a good Leaf team to be wasted this way…

Florida is such a dirty team! Bennett intensionally injured their number one goalie and now Wahl is an easier target for them to score on. Wahl is decent but not the same calabre as their number one goalie. Had Toronto had their number one goalie this game they would have won as Wahl let in some softies.

But why is FLA literally assaulting TOR players at every single opportuinty yet the only penalty would be on a retaliation!
Why is assault allowed in the Playoffs?
I am so confused why the same things that are major penalties and also looked at by DOPS in regaular season are not even anything to look at it in Playoffs?
So basically you need a team of goons capable of making Playoffs and then GOON your way through Playoffs because NONE of those assaults are penalties in Playoffs?
Leafs had their chance and blew it. Fact is the smaller Woll is not as big as Stolarz so those high deflections sneak in above his shoulders in the crease. With Stolarz those shots are blocked.
