Buffalo Sabres Options with 9th Pick w/ Chad DeDominicis | The Jeremy and Joe Show

Buffalo Sabres Options with 9th Pick w/ Chad DeDominicis | The Jeremy and Joe Show

Jeremy and Joe are joined by founder of Expected Buffalo Chad DeDedominicis to recap last nights NHL draft lottery, and discuss what the Sabres can do with the 9th overall pick. The guys discuss the opportunity to trade the pick for an established player, and why that may be more difficult than many fans think. Then the guys analyze the remaining needs for the Sabres to finally make it back to the playoffs, and how they could make the additions needed. The guys wrap up by discussing the Sabres cap situation, and whether they will actually use the space they have.

  1. No built in excuses they have had i wont say 14 years of them but ok 14 years of them and 5 by the buffoon in charge the last 5 . We know " Hockey is Hard "& "It takes 2 to deal " and "Palm trees and Coconuts" with a side of spineless . In no way do you hold onto 9th pick or whatever the year after pick is , you improve now or you will be a empty building .Period Make a choice, the first being who is core ? then live with it as you are there to evaluate as a GM not just rearrange the dominos and rest are pieces on board to get team over the canyon it dug . Its that or go play Shuffle Board elsewhere .

  2. If he's still there, Radim Mrtka is the guy, RHD, big, good hands and is immediate plug into the Amerks.

  3. Does it matter who they pick? He’ll be following the Kevyn Adams blueprint. He’ll be poorly developed, won’t be put in the best position to succeed, and will ultimately not meet his full potential.

  4. Trade the bloody pick for a veteran physical forward. Can't make a deal? Fine. Unless it's a Connor Bedard that falls to you at #9,, take the pick and draft a big physical forward who can skate, hit, throw down and is miserable to play against. The Sabres have enough short, soft skilled players for cripes sakes.

  5. Either trade the pick for a stay at home veteran D man( Andersson Calgary) or use the pick and take Aitcheson from Barrie in the OHL and hope like hell you can get Ekblad FLA or Gavrikov LA in free agency because the Sabres desperately need to find a partner for Owen Power.

  6. Gotta package 9th OA, Byram and a prospect for a serious top three forward. Think a Brady Tkachuk type forward with grit and talent.
