Gabriel Landeskog Is Emotional In Long-Awaited Return

Gabriel Landeskog’s kids said it best: “So proud of you, Daddy!”

It was an emotional night in Colorado as the Avalanche captain returned to the ice for the first time in 1,032 days.

The capacity crowd chanted “Landy” and snapped photos as Landeskog made his comeback from a chronic knee injury.

Gabe last played on June 26, 2022, when the Avalanche won the Stanley Cup.

Three years of surgeries and rehab later, with cameras capturing it for a documentary, Landy returned to the starting line-up for Avs Game 3 match against the Stars.

The 32-year-old Swede had 6 hits, but Colorado lost 1-2 in overtime to go up a game in the series.

“They were 1 and 2 when I last played,” Gabe said of his kids after the game. “They’ve probably been thinking that I’ve been lying this whole time that I play hockey.”

The Landeskog’s have a third child on the way.
