Give him what he will be worth in 3 years with current trajectory intact. The kid is the answer. (One of many worth looking into)
Someone will offer sheet Knies. I believe it has been reported that Knies wants a 3 year contract to take him to UFA status. So a 9 million for either 3 years or 5 years if he would take it.
Marner is gone. With the way Tavares is playing in the playoffs it is hard to see let him walk.
He would never sign with Detroit he plays best in the playoffs going to Detroit would remove that from his game. Marner is gone and Knies will have his money.

Toronto ought to trade Matthews to get a boatload of assets and free up cap space. Then resign Marner and Tavares.
Am I the only one who thinks he is kinda overrated
A friend of mine said a guy on youtube called Legorcks99 made a video that had my reddit post in it haha. That's pretty funny.
Yeah, other comments on the post mentioned the return for 8×8.2 would be 4 first round picks sent to Toronto, which I wasn't really thinking about. And then there's the whole 5 year term thing.. so yeah, It really is a pipe dream lol. Even if it's not the Wings, it will be interesting to see if anyone pulls the trigger.
