Eichel should have taken McJesus out of the play physically – it would have been a legal check. And Pietrangelo should have covered Draisaitl and let the goalie take McJesus who had no real shot instead of playing in between which allowed the pass.

McDavid had nothing going for the whole game and had quite a few give-aways. Edmonton defense fell too back and gave too much chances to Vegas in the slot. Pickard bailed them out. Vegas played a very good game, and is a much better team. They won all the battles. Too bad for Vegas, it took Bouchard and McDavid one good play and they won the game.
Haha, people keep bashing Eichel, he was actually in good position and all, just got caught puck-watching for just about a second if you watch the replay. All the defensemen in the league have had to unlearn what are naturally good distances and positions if McDavid is on the ice (even high skilled vets like Doughty etc), especially for good skaters like Eichel, it's not natural to think "No, you have to permanently watch him (Matthews learned that the hard way too, huh?), and run about half the sprint before he even gets going." So I don't blame Eichel much, just not something you can be prepared for without it burning you first.

LET'S F***ING GOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!! I know I'm 24 hours late commenting, but I'm still just as fired up as I was last night!! Just when this game looked like a heartbreaking loss for us after our boys looked gassed and blew a huge chance to win on that 5 minute power play, the Dynamic Duo come through after having a horrible game! Man, that feels great, our boys absolutely stole this one. And no one more than Calvin Pickard, his 6-0 start is nothing short of sensational!!
No Oilers goalie has done that since Fuhr way back in '85! I think we all remember what happened that year. Perhaps it's a sign of things to come;) I sure hope so!! Come on home and sweep 'em, boys, LET'S GOOOO OILERS!!!!!!
