Orioles vs. Twins Game Highlights (5/7/25) | MLB Highlights

It’s not that the offense isn’t performing, it’s that they’re kind of having to dig themselves out before they even get a chance to step up to the plate. And the reality of it, brett is the Orioles have played from behind in 12 of the last 15 games when you’re letting the 789 hitters be table setters for the Byron Buxton of the world that will spell disaster. And on the mound tonight for the Twins is righty sing was Richardson and Justin tonight will be his sixth start of the season. Charlie Morton trying to get that first win with the Orioles. Maybe the numbers didn’t look great coming out of the bullpen , but at least there were some signs that things were beginning to trend in the right direction and you know, from a pure stuff standpoint, it’s there. It’s just a matter of where is it going red hot is Byron Buxton has 10 career leadoff home runs and he has a 95 mile an hour fastball to strike out his first of the night. Yeah, you want to get a hitter like Buxton who’s been hot and he has get him a two strikes and he’ll chase nick one for four last night, scored a run in the glove back to back strikeouts for Charlie Morton. Well, he wouldn’t be zero and six with an, er, a over nine runs a game if he’s making these pitches. These are Ryan Jeffers chopped towards third Emmanuel Vera room service hop and Charlie Morton 123 in the first for the Birds. And O Hearn is retired and Mount Castle will be the batter. Mount Castle is one of those guys that is underperformed. Hitting just 24 struck him out. There’s 94 for a strikeout for Sim. That’s five up five down. Jackson has been grinding but lately he has been the Orioles best hitter up there and he’ll work a five pitch walk to a base runner for the Orioles. I think this is a good running situation and I think for the Orioles right now, given the offensive struggles, you have to be aggressive by holiday. There he goes pitches high, throw down his second holiday head, first dive he’s in there. He’s got a stolen base getting that left hand in. And so Brett Hollander go buy a lottery ticket somewhere as, as soon as you say it is on the move and the Orioles put a man in scoring position. Minnesota on a second base, got the oven before it was sliding into the oven. Field is overturned. The runner is out, came back with two strikes and works a leadoff walk and he puts France on and now carlos K out in front of the plate. Mart-n from the bump with the bare hand gets the out at first down to second. Advances France one down runner at second for Brooks Lee on the ground to first base. Mount Castle plays the high hop. He’ll race to the bag as Lee is retired, France advances 90 ft down to third and out Charlie Morton going to try and keep him right there and keep the score. Nothing, nothing hit hard to short on the backhand. Henderson retreating. Bounce Castle holds the bag to get the out just keeping that on the back part of the bag. A great play and the twins will not challenge it. Third of the lineup coming up, ramon Loo, Heston Kad and Emmanuel Rivera getting his first action of the series in the air to center field. Buxton freezes for a moment now he’s back now he’s turning around and that baby is gone solo homer for Mariano and the Orioles have a one nothing lead to straight away. Center field goes Ramon his fourth of the year and there’s your early lead for Baltimore to begin this top of the third only baserunner for the twins, Ty France with a leadoff walk in the second is this ball cut in the left field and that’s a base hit over to scoop it up and Castro will settle in with a leadoff single and the twins have a base runner here. The tie and run aboard with nobody out in the third for Cody Clements and he misses inside. He hit him that might have hit him. Not sure if that officially is a walk or a hit batter, but he’s at first base. Cody does his job and they are two on with nobody out for Byron Buxton. It was a hit batter and Buxton unloads high and deep to left field. Beckett goes towards the second deck and gone. He’s over now in three straight games and there’s that but truck signing early again tonight and with the one swing of the bat, the twins take a 31 lead. Great to see how healthy he’s been to start the year, how well he’s been swinging the bat. Well, he’s been running around the bases just doing everything this team has needed after a slow start, putting him on his back and providing so much energy. Second hit tonight for the Orioles baserunner, Ryan O Hearn the batter that’s on the ground to first a chance here, France to second for one pers return. Well done. And that’s a double play and Woods. Richardson pitches out of the top of the fourth, a pair of fly outs to Buxton and it’s going to get Ramon back up to the plate. Mo Liano Homered his last time at the plate. Fourth of the season for ramon Loreal is going to have a two hit day goes the opposite way, drops it in the alley and is going to dig for extra bases. A two out double by ramon Lorean. Everybody on the, on the dugout railings waiting for the signal here, ramon Loo forgot to cue the band. Gibson’s like, buddy, you’re leaving us hanging. You’re, you’re leaving us with mouthwash. There we go. Thank you. Thumbs up. We’re playing along. All right, thanks guys. This is a moment where if you’re Heston Kerst, you’re probably not going to find a more favorable matchup and he losses one into right field. That’s down for a base hit. Tony Manlio is going to rush loo to the plate. Here’s the throw by larn it dies in the middle of the Diamond Lorean skippers across. He scores on the RB I base hit from Heston Kerst that came in two with runners in scoring position. That number just jumped up. Now, here’s Emmanuel Rivera three and 22 outs on the move. Here’s the pitch line drive in the right field for a base. Now, Kad turning second, he’ll make it in the third standing up. It’s an opposite field single by Emmanuel Rivera. The Orioles have got the tying run at third. They have got the run at first base. So Simon was out away from working through five. He will not get that chance as he will leave here in the fifth inning with one in two on and two out and now he’s going to hand it over to the bullpen and see if his body can pick him up here. Baltimore as a team has really struggled with runners in scoring position. Dead last in baseball, hit 191 as a team struck him out with a cutter. So Coolum strikes out Mullins for the second time tonight and the Orioles score one but lead two Buxton one out single threat to run. Here’s larn to bat. There he goes on the 30 and it’s on a line out to right. Kerst reaches out and pulls it down. That ball took off on the Orioles right fielder. Kad went a leaping into the air. Buckton has to hustle back to first. A one rolled on the ground out to shortstop. Henderson’s got it and underhand flip to ho covering it second, they get the force out there. And so a man left on base for the twins and Brian baker keeps this game a one run, a two up, two down for Coolum here and now likely face his last batter and Ryan o’hearn two out bases empty as o’hearn steps in, he’s zero for two groundball right side diving play by France at first base race. The bag, no one’s there and o’hearn beats it out. Didn’t get there in time. He’s obviously frustrated, but that was a great play by Ty France and that’ll be the end of K’s day with the ready coming up 32 twins, sixth inning Louis Varland is on for the second straight night and will face Ryan mcast chopper, tough play hugging the line at third. Lee won’t have a play take that second infield against two twins pitchers here in the sixth Orioles need a base hit. Now they need a clutch hit Jackson Holiday. He’s been as locked in as any Oriole over the last couple of weeks. 22, another weekly at ground ball, Varland good athlete will die. Find it shovel and got him. Varland. The pride of North Saint Paul, former wrestler, former football player. Boy, he pounced on that baseball like a safety blitz of the quarterback, Keegan Aiken. Boy. What another nice year he’s having in those 17 strikeouts lead all relievers. That is Deshaun Cursey Junior pinch running for Roy. I will Castro will be playing and a miss he struck him out and he got him with a slider. So one down now Bader unavailable last night due to illness off the bench here tonight. Is it safely in eight straight games? Bader unloads to left field and deep be it goes and gone off the bench. A pinch hit two run homer. Another big swing from Harrison Bader late in the ball game. It’s 52. That’s how you come off the rack right there ready to hit. Got himself in that bat off a lefty. What? In addition to this team, he has been so Bader now has hit safely in nine straight games and the lead grows to three lately. Jackson’s been a lot better in his last seven games. He’s allowed just a run in six and two thirds. The year started off poorly. He gave up 10 runs in eight innings in his first nine games. Anderson rolls it to the third baseman in the Drift. Lee pops up on the first out in time. Third infield hit tonight for the Orioles and here comes Rutman who’s had a one ball game. This one floated to left field shallow coming in Bader and slide and make the catch. He comes in on that ball towards the line as well as anyone I’ve seen in recent memory playing left field in this ballpark. Roman is out Henderson on base for ryan Hearn that’s bladed towards left Bader coming on. Can’t get there in time. So you know what happens after a bloop? Yes, you do a bloop and a blast hit up the middle off the glove. It’s fielded by Castro. Got one there, got the second there ticked off of Jackson Castro in his first inning at a new defensive spot turns it nimbly. Durant has been fantastic and he is on in a safe situation. He’s four for four saves this year and he faces Jackson Holiday strike three paints at 101 and Ho is out number one. It’s amazing that he’s able to get that ball to move like that at 100 and one miles an hour. And you got loo up at the plate. Two two swan that missed, he struck him out down goes loo back to back strike out for John Durant and the Orioles are down to their final out swan that missed. He struck him out. Durant strikes out the side and the twins strike down Baltimore 52. Your final tonight at Target field.

  1. So tired of hearing about orioles pitching. This offense has been anemic since the all star break ladt season. The new hitting coaches have been worse than last year's. Frankly, the entire coaching staff should be gone at the end of the season.

  2. Bottom Line., โ€œBALTIMORE NEEDS BETTER PITCHING! Pitching will either Make or Break ANY team in Baseball, The Only Way you can Be Successful in Baseball is by keeping your Opponent off the Scoreboard

  3. Rookies of the year, can't miss prospects who have already shown they can perform in the majors, but all get worse the longer they are with this coaching staff!!! How long do the O's let this nonsense continue. Replace the whole coaching staff and see if we can turn this around. Everyone talks about how bad the pitching staff is, and it is, but they can't score runs either, and there is no reason for that with this roster.

  4. Pet peeve…….
Bring the tag to the xxxxxx BAG…
Catchers….why the xxxxx are you trying to catch below the knees palm down…xxxxxxcxx

  5. The O's have had a ton of injuries, especially in pitching. The Twins have had a lot of injuries too, but more in position players. I believe it's easier to fill position players than pitchers.
