If its not the number 1 pick 5 years in a row it really doesn't make a difference to Vancouver, let things settle and see what we've got in 10 years, a couple playoff appearances is the reward.
As a Canucks fan, I would love us picking Cole Reschny. Failing that, Braeden Cootes would be my choice.
If I'm the Islanders I think the play would be to trade one spot lower with San Jose in exchange for a second round pick and maybe a lower pick or a depth roster player. Both teams get what they need.

They never got the number one pick and if they got it would find a way to screw it up.
