Who could the Canucks and Habs select with the 15th and 16th picks?

Was choosing the No. 1 pick in your mock draft a difficult decision? Where do you have Porter Martone and Michael Misa ending up in your mock draft? What are your thoughts on James Hagens? TSN Director of Scouting Craig Button joins SC with Jay Onrait to answer those questions, while also giving his thoughts on who he sees as a good fit for the Canucks and Canadiens, who have the 15th and 16th overall picks respectively in this year’s NHL Draft.

  1. Utah going to run 2 sub 6 foot centres down the middle? Doubt it. Hagens will go 5th to Nashville. Utah will pick Frondell or Desnoyers

  2. a drew doughty reference? c'mon man — you showing your age….. a lot of these older hosts are great but they use obscure references that the 20 to 35 year olds wont get. heck he might as well say — he brings a lot of what gary doak used to bring to the table

  3. If its not the number 1 pick 5 years in a row it really doesn't make a difference to Vancouver, let things settle and see what we've got in 10 years, a couple playoff appearances is the reward.

  4. As a Canucks fan, I would love us picking Cole Reschny. Failing that, Braeden Cootes would be my choice.

  5. If I'm the Islanders I think the play would be to trade one spot lower with San Jose in exchange for a second round pick and maybe a lower pick or a depth roster player. Both teams get what they need.

  6. You talked about who the Habs might pick at 16… But with back-to-back selections, you couldn't talk about who the Habs will pick at 17? lol

  7. Vancouver will take a Swede. Or they'll trade the pick to fill a roster hole which they screwed up on. 55 years and counting.

  8. I’ve never been a fan of drafting for need. Get the best talent. Canucks drafted Juolevi over Tkachuk because they needed D. How did that work out?

  9. Canucks should continue the tradition of drafting a Swedish player that disappears in the playoffs. 😮😂😅😊😢

  10. iMAGINE SHARKS pick 3 centres to roll 3 high end lines and then build from that? You don't need expensi9ve wingers if your centres are good <3

  11. Vancouver is going to trade that pick and future top 4 dman, Tom Willander for some aging top 6 centre.

I hate being a Canucks fan.

  12. The Vancouver Canucks will pick the turkey like the Vasili Podkolzin pick instead of giving Montreal Cole Caufield and Minnesota Matthew Boldy. Canucks scouts are stupid for every Quinn Hughes there’s an Olli Juolevi. In the history of Canucks drafts they are terrible. They never got the number one pick and if they got it would find a way to screw it up.

  13. Knowing the Canucks, they will trade their late 1st round pick for a packet of Wasa crackers … and then give the Wasa crackers an 8 year @ 11.5 million deal.
