Coach Bruce Cassidy could not find the right line combinations to get a late goal. Calvin Pickard was far much better than Adin Hill in game one.

I interpreted Cassidy’s comments about the bad ice as a reason why it was even more important to play a north/south game, and specifically to play the ice behind the defense. Vegas did not do this. I don’t think he at all said this is what made them play a more east/west game. He then said Edmonton just elevated their game whereas Vegas did not and he further continued that Edmonton just played better. Bad ice was not the issue and I don’t think Cassidy used it as an excuse. That’s just me listening to him though, and I’m a nobody.
Eichel looked okay in the defensive zone, but didn't look like much of a factor in the offensive zone for the few moments the Knights were in there. VGK looking like the PP merchants that the Oilers used to be, outmatched 5 on 5.

OIlers fan here, Hill wasn't weak, i don't think Pickard outplayed Hill, oilers severely outplayed the VGK in game 1.

Choppy ice plays into the hands of the slower team and the team that is not playing most of the game with the puck. It’s clear who was faster & had the the puck. That being said, vegas will make their adjustments and be waaay better in game 2.

Vegas will come out hard in G2. But if oilers take G2, that will be a statement. The Edmonton crowd is on fire, one of the best in the league. Vegas empty seats? G3 and G4 will electric because the oilers will be on fire too.

I have a question – VGK fan living in Chicago. Booked a trip to Vegas this May back in March. I'll be arriving Sunday, May 18th (game 7), but the flight won't arrive until 10 pm, so no chance of attending that game if it happens. However, if Dallas upsets Winnipeg and VGK gets this series against the Oil, what are the odds game 1 of conference finals will be on Tuesday May 20th? I'm returning back to Chicago on Wednesday afternoon. Just trying to figure out if I should keep the night free.
Oilers fan here, just to give some perspective. So far, 13 players on Edmonton’s roster have scored this postseason. McDavid and Draisaitl are only loaded together to force Vegas to load their top line when they’re on the ice. So far, Vegas is doing a good job shutting down McDavid and Draisaitl, but they’re outmatched on the cycle. Rush offense and sustained shooting pressure is the name of the game in this postseason.
