Catch Wrestling | The Shoulder Lock from Body Scissors
my pocket here all right um we’re going to start with the double wrist lock from body scissors or the G [Music] right all right now we this isn’t Jiu-Jitsu so I don’t want you guys staying here any longer than you have to right um but the guard can be used as a means to an end I’m looking for a submission in this instance all right so um basically the setups can all kind of be the same or I can either do that and get them post or sometimes I can open up and he’s a little bit high but I can try to bump him and force him to post his hand down so I come here he’s going to catch himself okay so we’ll do that we’re going to open the guard bring the hand to the mat and hit him Force the post I’m going to reach over okay now when I fall back I’m not going to fall straight back I’m going to fall at an angle Okay so I bring the leg up and I’m trying to get as perpendicular as I can to him grabbing the wrists and grabbing my wrist okay you guys following so far okay now from here if I rotate his shoulder and I keep good compression on his back to stop him from Rolling forward I’m going to get a tap okay if I do it really sloppy he’ll still tap eventually okay and you see some people teaching like that man now check this out if I don’t let his arm come away from my body and I he hold it tight and I rotate he’s going to tap a little bit faster maybe I’m going slow he’s kind of Bendy but even with somebody who’s got a lot of flexibility there’s a tiny little trick that I learned and what I’m going to do is I’m going to take his shoulder and I’m going to turn to my side so that I can get his shoulder closer to the mat okay yeah okay I haven’t even moved yet bro I know okay all I did was turn my body to face toward its head and toward the camera okay and then from here what I’m going to do is I’m going to pull I haven’t even rotate I’m going to pull his elbow toward me and push his hand away a little bit and then I barely need to move his hand toward his head and he’s tapping now he shows you all the differences and every time I adjusted you needed less and less move it you guys follow that okay that’s that’s what we’re looking to do is just be super efficient from the beginning my car keys oh all right so in the guard open up now I’m going to get that hip nice wrap up fall down as I’m falling I get my figure four and I turn my body toward the mat or toward his head and I bring everything close to the mat pull it into me then I barely rotate and he’s tapping he’s really selling it man he’s making me look good isn’t he okay cool now I’m going to have Matt try this on somebody else let’s see pick your pick your uh sure your prey hopefully I can make it look as good as you my guy you look 10 times better than me okay open up and hit the hip hece like you’re trying to hit bump him okay so boom he post right there and you wrap and then fall to the side turn your whole body Bend his arm as much as you can grab your wrist good now I want you almost turn to your side before you start rotating angle your body more that way there you go now pull it towards you drive your shoulder to the mat no keep his hand away from you push his hand away and pull the elbow towards you okay now drive his shoulder down to the mat and then rotate good okay he has nowhere to go right yeah you barely had to move an inch okay that good let’s doit one more time without me having to block you through it and we’ll see if you can return the favor take time home yep nice and smooth there you go grab your wrist keep his arm bent tight there you go okay now I would say there’s there’s still room to adjust turn to your side more okay that because that brings his shoulder closer to the mat pull it towards you and then rotate yeah I see how much less room you need to move yeah okay cool change straight places cuz it’s only fair that we give him the opportunity to problem this too get them do break them with f take your time it’s not a it’s not a racan there you go and go back I would say when you’re going to hit pump post on your your hand cuz he’s tall you go to get there you go that’s more realistic wrap and then fall to the side okay Bend his arm all the way 90° or shorter okay now I want you your leg up his back more I want you oh sir remember I said I want you to the side so I want you over here more and turn to your side turn turn that way turn like onto your ribs there you go see he’s already he’s already kind of wiing okay pull this towards you but drive that away and then rotate good and I feel like there’s even more room check this out break his shoulder down closer to the mat now do it Eureka as they say in science all right we understand the mission okay my suggestion would be to do it slowly so you don’t somebody up okay any questions all right let’s Dr
