They have good, young talent at every position, so next season could be the one where we see a playoff appearance.

He did a draft preview but hasn’t discussed the results. Anyone know what’s up?
They need someone like Sandis Ozolinsh 😄
It would not be worth it to get back into the playoffs with someone like Joel Quenneville behind the bench. I know you're not necessarily saying that's your personal opinion, but we really shouldn't even be suggesting that as a remotely acceptable opinion. Covering up sexual assault is sickening enough, let alone the fact that Quenneville's complicity was in part responsible for a child falling victim to the same predator. We should not be letting people like this back into positions of power in the league, that is not what accountability looks like.
The Ducks have kept their young picks so far, which is encouraging. We just don’t know if they are a squad of mediocre players or will some blossom into near stars. We can’t even define their roles because it isn’t known yet who they are.
One thing we do know is they have competed with the effort we are seeing in the playoffs.
Give my Ducks a few years and we're going to be Stanley Cup Contenders.
I hope not
Having been there twice, Honda Center is at a good location. The ARTIC is right across the street so you can use the train to travel from LA if you're using that as your home base. The only drawback is options for food before the game that doesn't require to walk for a bit. (The restaurant I went last time which is middle of the arena and station closed end of last year.) I'm hoping this entertainment district gives some options with low walking distances before the game. The arena and the area itself gets a "I'm okay to go back again for game" rating once that district gets built.
As an Oilers fan I’m rooting for Woodcroft
Please don’t hire Quennville.
Most of these UFAs and RFAs for this year and next are in their mid-20s or older and are going to want to get paid.
Unfortunately, the best thing for the Ducks is to not keep Zegs. You want keep Tavs, Leo, Little TnT (Troy Terry, Tage Thompson is big TnT), and probably some of the others, then cannot sign Zegs unless he takes a pay cut.
Zegras is fine, gets too much hate because people insist he is a star player when he is not
Go Ducks! Looking forward to seeing what Carlsson can do in year 3.
If the Ducks next season see playoff action, which of the Jets, Dallas Stars, Avs, Golden Knights, LA Kings, Oilers, MN Wild and Blues will end up missing? Still hard to tell at this point.
I think with a coach like Woodcroft, I could see them in a Wild Card position. They'd likely bounce out quickly like the Habs this year, but I think that they are in a good spot.
Hiring couch Q would be a huge mistake. Even if the win the cup, winning is not what’s important. A coach is supposed to help the players to become the best versions of themselves on and off the ice. I could never trust Q to do that.
I'd let Zegras go
I love the orange and white jerseys.
maybe one year, maybe two?
Those point totals from the youth are discouraging given how long some of them have been around. But with the right coach and system, at least a couple of them should take the next step.
I much prefer they take Woodcroft over Quenneville, for obvious reasons.
Anyone saying hockey does'nt work in Anaheim needs to be educated on their history because they have a stanley cup, won two confrence finals, and routinley made the playoffs even when veterans like Selanne and niedermeyer retired and they would get pretty far a few times. Speaking of those two they have three hall of famers that came out of that team so yeah people can shut up about that.
Anyway I'm very excited about the team's future especially when Sennecke get's added to the line up they did pretty good this year and Verbeek seems to be approaching things the right way. While I would prefer a fresh face or a coach who's been to the playoffs without any baggage I understand why he's looking at Quinville, and since it's been awhile I'd hope that Quinville will have thought over that whole situation and won't do anything stupid now.
If their young stars shine, playoffs are definitely possible.
Beautiful attire!
It’s crazy to be that they went up in the standing by 21 points and still fired Cronin
Joel q. Is just bad for the nhl. He just can't be trusted .
Woodcroft signing as coach and another big step in the right direction will absolutely be the winning combo to see the Ducks in the playoffs next year
As for the fandom in SoCal, I can tell you there is a lot more buzz about this team locally than there has been in the last 5 or so years (the redesign has helped a lot with that)
Sennecke for Calder!
I like the Ducks but the orange uniforms are hideous
How can we improve if Gary keeps giving us lower and lower draft picks? Tell me it’s not fixed if after 30 years we still have never had a number 1 pick. Tell me it’s not fixed if we’ve never hosted an all-star weekend. Right. We’ll have to do it ourselves.
I have been watching your channel for a long time and every video is like a new pleasant discovery. Thank you very much!🗻🖤🎰
Instead of expansion Id honestly like to see Anaheim relocated to Houston.
I could see Gibson being traded and Ville Husso sign a cheaper contract, was good in the 4 games he played
Just wait till Briere offer sheets McTavish
They have couple young kids who havent become anything. Trading zegras, terry any other for someone decent would do them good
Ive certainly enjoyed your coverage THG, as a fan from Australia this channel provides alot of neutral perspectives around the NHL that you just dont get anywhere. As a Ducks fan though i think your take is spot on, I think the Coach Q vs Woodcroft decision is ultimately the fork in the road for the Ducks in my view at least, but really its who is going to unlock these players to their fullest potential, while i understand Q comes with some "Hate" and some of this might be deserved, the man has served his punishment and time, and honestly, if the Ducks make this choice then i just want to see playoffs and the team thriving again.
According to the athletic. Carle had a good interview and supposedly has an out in his contract with u of d. I'd rather the ducks go the Cooper route (carle) , the woodcroft route. But not the Murray route (q).
I am a Ducks fan. Here is what we need
1. A good coach (Q is in consideration despite the outcry from social justice warriors, Woodcraft is also a good option)
2. A good top 6 forward who can score goals. (Marner is a pipes dream, but Boeser is an option).
3. Better defense (too many turnovers in our own zone).
Ducks need these 3 things to take that next step. Dostal needs to be the main guy. Trade Gibson for a player/pick.
