  1. I honestly think we need to start with addition by subtraction.

-Buyout Grubauer and Burakovsky if you can't find ANY trades for them
-Trade away Oleksiak plus picks or lesser prospects for an interesting, cheaper, and younger piece like Alex Newhook, Dawson Mercer, or Shane Pinto.
That alone would give us roughly an extra $7.5M-ish that we could use to extend Kakko, Eyssimont and Evans.

We'd still have roughly $20M to fill in a LW, RW, 2D and a backup goalie. I wouldn't mind just signing 1 forward, 1 defenseman, trading for a better solution at backup goalie, and then running rookies to fill in the rest.

  2. Signing Kokko, Nyman, and Eyssimont while dumping Grubauer and Burakovsky would be a good start. We probably cant do anything about Dunn, but Oleksiak is well past his prime. Not convinced that Stephenson should go as well, but he really needs to up his defensive game. As for coaching, i have no idea why we are keeping Jessica Campbell around. Sure, she's easy on the eyes, but her special teams most certainly is not.

  3. botteril as gm? have fun doing nothing for another 5 years before replacing him with another old numbskull hockey-elite guy. this ownership is so bad, nobody there is actually passionate about hockey

  4. thanks for another season of excellent coverage man. you are the king of kraken coverage, at least in video format you far and away are who I've gone too most consistently since the beginning. You're the real deal man I hope this continues for quite some time.

  5. The draft isn't particularly deep this year and we have plenty of draft capital. If we dont luck out with a top 2 pick, we should flip for an elite, proven player. Couple of 1sts and a starter or a couple of prospects… for Tage Thompson. Big, in his prime, and an elite goal scorer.

    Just a thought.
