  1. Gawad cleared the ball, opponent played the ball to his own area, then Gawad ran in a straight line to the ball and was impeded because his opponent had not cleared. … Obviously would have made the ball before 2 bounces, so stroke every day of the week! … Can't believe how bad refereeing is now! In an effort to keep play continuous, refs are failing in the basic rules!

  2. You all don’t know the rules. The definition of a stroke is such that “if the interference prevented the player being otherwise able to play the winning shot”. This is why the rule exists and the player gets a point for it.
If a ball is tight on the wall by the time the player would have reached it, it is not within reasonable grounds they can play a “winning shot” from that position – it is a defensive position. The decision could only be either let or no let, and let balls are called far less nowadays due to changes in refereeing guidelines over last 5 years, one of which is it the shot is tight to the wall, let should be considered unlikely – especially if the prior shot was weak and created the potential for interference in the first place, which this one was.

  3. What the heck. In what cuckoo planet is that not at least a let? I bet the umpire said something obnoxious like “you have to play the ball”.
