So let me get this straight, the refs hate canadien teams so much that they allowed them to win the presidents trophy, then immediately started helping the blues beat them in the first round? So if the refs are trying to help the blues so much why did Sunny get an embellishment? Why didn’t the blues get a 5 on 3 when neighbors was tripped up in the zone on a pp? Refs were awful for both sides

Looked like the Shief injury forced Arniel back to rolling all 4 lines and look what happened, Jets dominate. You can line match all you want, but the Jets are more than capable of having all 4 lines check your team to a stand still. Who say Namestikov out playing Thomas last night, it wasn't even a contest. Wild!
Very one sided officiating. Even the color commentators were acknowledging the inconsistency. Blues injuries to Tucker and Holloway are starting to impact the series. Along with players like Texier and Suter getting big minutes despite not playing much or at all in the playoffs previously. Blues lose a bit of synergy and chemistry and the refs didn’t do them any favors. Not to take anything away from the Jets they held onto the puck much better last night.

I don't care what anyone says, this was a good game for Hellebuyck! People are putting him under a microscope now, trying to find anything to pick him apart.
Of the 3 goals scored against him, the 1st and 3rd are regular goals that you will see on every single pro goalie all the time. The second goal was soft, as he didn't push up against the post, but again, just like every single pro goalie, they are not robots, and do make small mistakes. That's one he'd like to have back, but it is what it is.
People also glossing over that he made what will likely hold up as the save of the entire playoffs.
And the last thing that has really bugged me is how so many of the goals scored against him in game 3/4 were also not his fault, but was instead a result of the team in front of him playing terrible defense, allowing too many screens, and not forcing the play to the boards. They cleaned it up today and played much better in their own end, looking more like the Jets we've seen throughout the regular season.
As a Jets fan when they announced Scheifs was out for the game I thought we were in real trouble, then they play their best period of the series to date. Great effort by the Jets.

The Schenn hit on Scheifele was dirty and predatory. The puck was nowhere near him. He launched himself in the air and hit him high. Obvious intent to injure with the puck nowhere near. Deserves a suspension.

I totally get that playing hard is part of the playoffs and that the officials are going "to let the boys play".
But, it really seems like Saint Louis is intentionally trying to injure people, that crosses a line in my book.

That stick save on the 2 on one was the game saving save. Game would have been much different had that gone in.
I'm thinking the Capitals-Canes series will start Sunday afternoon or Monday at 7pm ET and we will have 2 games on Tuesday, 2 on Wednesday, 2 on Thursday etc. WED May 7 being Game 1 of Winnipeg /St. Louis against Dallas /Colorado (should COL or STL force a game 7) being played right after Game 2 of Carolina at Washington feels likely to me.
It makes sense for EDM/LA against VGK/MIN to begin Tuesday if there is a Game 7 this SAT in either of the VGK/MIN or EDM/LA series.

This series reminds me of the opening round series the Flames had in 89 vs. Vancouver. They struggled and barely got by with an OT win in game 7. Then they cruised to the cup. Not saying that'll happen if the Jets even win, but I'm on their bandwagon. They'll have lots tougher opposition to face than the Flames did in 89 when they got the so-so Gretzky Kings and the lousy but somehow got to the semi-finals Black Hawks.
Helly's save % and GSAx would be significantly better if it weren't for our 3rd pair, oof.

Jets scored one real goal. The other 3 (not counting the empty netter) were all deflections including one off of Parayko. The one really legit goal they got was a beauty. The Blues penalty killing was very good. Powerplay not so much. BTW standing up a player who is trying to check you and they hit your brick wall and they fall to the ice that's not a penalty. That's defensive play.
The Blues finally got to "their game" in the third. But it was because of Winnipeg's pressure throughout the game they kept us from our game. May the best team win this series. It's all up for grabs. I thought that Hellabuck was made some great saves that would have been goals for us any other time. Give him credit.
