  1. Wes McCauley. I think it was a great game, but he was the deciding factor. His record with the Dallas needs to be investigated.

  2. As a kid watching Roadrunner cartoons after school..I wondered is there a person who is Roadrunner.

After third period maybe I finally had that moment in Rantanen’s and Stars numbing finale.

  3. It was hard to watch Rantanen get a hat trick against us. While I was pretty annoyed for a while, and after sleeping it off, I can now say congrats to Moose for a great game. We miss having him on our side, and I'm glad he's still doing well. But, I will be rooting against the Stars for the rest of the playoffs hehe.

  4. Enough… When you have a team loaded with this much talent and you can't get out of the first round for the last three years. It comes down to two issues. Managment and head coach. Jered Bednar needs to go. Chris Macfarland needs to go. Take a page out of Pierre Lacroix handbook Joe Sakic and fire them both. This team is constantly underperforming. If you don't make any changes, how can you get any different results. End of story!

  5. An unfortunate epic collapse by Colorado, the Game 7 demons continue for McKinnon and the Avs!
Maybe they should have re-signed Rantanen…maybe.

  6. Shannon- congrats from an Avs fan. That meltdown was hard to watch but I bet you loved it. Shame that was a first round matchup. Good luck going forward man

  7. 11:31 this goal was insane, not only the crazy angle but the puck got in on him and he had to pull his hands inward and still was able to get a snipe of a shot.

  8. I agree about Benn, at least up until the 3:30 mark. Best Captain still playing good for his age but the numb skull penalties he creates on occasion, thank god this 4 minutes didn't cost them. 6:00 OK, yes Benn w/delayed penalty….ouch. Otter deservers some credit but Thank You Rant for getting them to the next round!!!! Oh yeah every Nichushkin point/goal was a dagger…you know what I mean.

  9. I wanted to know the stats on Makar's performance and I looked up his shot percent at 12% for the regular season, so ignoring the empty net and 60-something shot attempts the probability of no goals after 25 shots on goal is 4% or 1/24

  10. three years now of moron Chris MacFarland. As stupid as George Paton. Equally dumb, worthless. Instead of worrying about Stanley Cup this year, let's get concerned with salary cap for next year, and get rid of Ratanen. Him and his helper Sam Girard, lol

  11. Incredibly accurate on the doubt creeping in after the 1st goal. All Colorado fans knew it was over right there. This Avs group just has been missing something after the Cup win, losing Kadri and the future now looks pretty bleak after mortgaging the future for some trades that while on paper looked to drastically improve the team ended up being mediocre at best.

  12. Look at the comment I left 2 weeks ago calling that Benn will "accidentally" cross check someone in the head/neck. Took less than 1 period.

  13. Typical dallas. They had nothing going except fluke puck luck. That's how dallas got out of the first round last year. No matter how much people are hyping up the stars, they don't scare me. I still don't trust their defense, and mr game 7 still has never won beyond second round.

  14. With how the NHL playoffs work….this should have been a 2nd round series or a conference Finals series.
I picked the winner of this game to win the Cup.
If I had to pick 3 teams to win it from the final 8….
    Florida, Edmonton, Dallas.
If Dallas doesn’t do it. I would also love to see the Caps win it all.
    I just see it being….
    Canes and Panthers
    Oilers and Stars
And I hate to say it. But I think Edmonton is going to win the Cup.
Obviously I want the Stars to win and they have a great shot to do it.
Something just says Edmonton….or Florida back to back.

As a Stars fan. The Oilers scare me. So does Florida.

  15. I'm still wondering why (i know why i just want to hear them try to justify it) the Avs let the moose go. Cale is a once in a generation Defensive player but cant win games on his own. Nathan is an Ace of a player but is spontaneous at best. Mikko was the only consistent player on the roster (don't get me started on Vale). As much as I love Lande his time is short and he will forever be the GOAT captain for the AVS in my eyes.

Im happy for Mikko and dallas/their fans but this stings how upper management treated one of the best Avs ever.

  16. I appreciate your efforts to be unbiased, and loved this analysis. I did want to point out something you mention at 16:23 about MacKinnon being the captain. Actually, Landeskog is their captain. MacKinnon is an Assistant Capt. Definitely coming back to listen to you! (I mashed that subscribe button so hard)

  17. Was at the game. Colorado did a great job of keeping the crowd out of it, but after the first Dallas goal, the intensity of the crowd was awesome. Just an overall amazing game.

  18. No changes? 😂 Blackwood, McFarland and Bednar AT LEAST need to be gone by Christmas.

McFarland needs to be fired immediately. He is now officially the Nico Harrison of hockey.

Blackwood needs to be replaced as soon as a decent replacement can be found. You cant beat a top ten goalie in a 7-game playoff series without a top ten goalie. Blackwood will never be that. Going cheap on goalie for 20 years has failed except when a good goalie with age or injury issues has to take a prove-it deal (Kuemper).

Bednar is a lame duck. No one cares what he says anymore. The only reason to hold him is to fire him when the Avs get really bad for a couple of weeks in Nov-Dec.

But really, I hope McFarland gets treatment-resistant gonorrhea. The cup window is closed. 2028 draft lottery here come the avs.

  19. I was in the hospital dealing with some diabetic related problems. Safe to say I might have woken up the entire floor during this game. A nice win to make me feel better! Back home now thankfully, LET'S GO STARS!!

  20. Stars/Avs and Jets/Blues match ups were both worthy of Western Conference Finals. Avs were fierce competitors.
    Go Stars!

  21. 3 reasons why Colorado lost this series:

    1. Couldn't close out games. Avs scored the opening goal in 6 of 7 games and 3 of their 4 losses they entered the 3rd period with a lead.
    2. Powerplay was atrocious. 3-22 on the series including 0-2 on double minors (including over 3 minutes to start overtime at home in game 3)
    3. Oettinger played out of his mind in games 2-7. He singlehandedly stole game 3 and kept games 4 and 6 somewhat respectable. Colorado could've easily scored 10 each in games 4 and 6. (if any other goalie in these playoffs started for Dallas, Colorado would win in 5 games)

Overall, it's just unfortunate that the far better team got knocked out due to shooting themselves constantly in the foot and facing a really hot goalie. Reminds me of how Carolina has been getting knocked out in recent years due to being unable to score timely goals.

  22. Watched this at my uncles house with my mom and tbh I dont think our hearts could take any more. the whole 1st period just flew by like a symphony of skates, the 2nd period was great for us avs fans but i still had a feeling something was about to explode. As soon as that 1st dallas goal went in the arena erupted and the ice turned into a maelstrom. Worry set in but even when we pulled the goalie I felt the hope alive. Avs kept it in zone and played without the goalie for what felt like a heart pounding eternity, and Rantanen finally broke through to put the last nail in. I hope the moose comes back to the woods one day
