Hi guys
Extremely dissapointed with the results of the Nelson trade, gave up Ritchie, McFarland traded away all picks and prospects and now they have nothing in the system besides Navakov
This is not a playoff contending team. What will happen next year when the run across a healthy Dallas stars team?
After hearing this episode, it makes me think that maybe this really wasn’t our year. Maybe the re-tooling presented the illusion that it was, because of what you saw on paper. The regular season wasn’t so promising. It was up and down. If the Wild were healthy all year and the Blues had consistent coaching quality like you saw at the end of the season, there’s a strong chance we’d be a wildcard. Makes me feel a little better. I think this season was like our ‘21 season and next year will be our ‘22 season 🙌
Ritchie, Byram, Rantanen, Kovalenko gone all for nothing. Front office decimated this hockey club
Too much emphasis on 2C/one position and not enough emphasis on discipline for the WHOLE team. We lost because of irresponsible play. If the team tightens up, it doesn’t matter who’s at 2C.
We should talk about trading Val. He is an asset that is paid pretty penny and is valuable for some other team. Yes, he is good, but wasnt a difference maker that much this series. Besides, the focus should be on toughening things up. We need bigger bodies, grit, mental toughness. Drouin is another skilled but tiny guy who gets injured a lot. I loved him up to the end of this series. Time to move him. Kiviranta is not worth it. I understand he is 3rd line guy but he might be the one to get axed. Basically, I think we keep Mac, Makar, Necas, Toews, Nelson, Landy, Lekhonen, LOC. The rest are expendable in my book. If we keep Val, then get rid of Nelson. Basically, I would love to keep most of these guys, but we need to change something. It is obvious it is not working.
Mikko also would have choked if he was still with Colorado.
We need a new power play coach and a couple tweeks in the lineup. Keep the majority of the team together
The trades the last couple of years has resulted in no winning and lost all our trade assets and picks. Nothing to be proud of. We lost to a worst team. PP and PK terrible. MAC fire pitiful. He needs to learn how to win a FO and better passing.
Another 1st round exit next year. This team has proven they don’t have heart and no playoff metal. The teams are only getting better and bigger. If we run the same structure it will be the same. Yea, let’s waste another year. Agree Shaggy, can’t bring everyone back and we will do the same thing. We have no assets to trade.
The defense is t big enough for playoffs.
Chris, come this team needs a redo. Untouchables MAC and Cale. We will be stuck with Landy. Other than that, all others are in discussion.
Chris you are. Being a homer. This team is playoff mess. Next year all the others will be better. Who cares about regular season. It’s playoffs. The best talent in the division and out first round. Same structure next year, same result.
There is a rumour around told in RealKyper&Borne show by Nick Kyprios today that MacK is not very happy what happened and how.
Blaming Joe Sakic getting rid of Mikko Rantanen . How you guys respond to that?
If MacK is not happy and will loose his faith on Avs and their possibilities to win the Cup? What happens then?
Who will be fired? Joe? Someone's head needs to be cut.
Anyway, Mikko will be Avs' nuisance for the next 7 years!!
This was just Part 1 of his ' revenge' .
After this loss of this kind it can be mentally tougher to beat Stars next time when they meet on play offs.
Hockeys answer to the mavericks…
omg where did shaggy go lol shaggyless in the house lol
for once we dont have to talk about goaltending other than giving wedgie a little extension ,2 years sounds good even 3 if he thinks he can go till hes 36
I'd love for Malinski to spend his summer hunting Bigfoot with Keaton Middleton or something hardcore like that – to build his intensity and grit.
Also – if there in a young, big, fast, Center – with amazing hands, epic faceoff skills that we can trade for Sammy G straight up, I think we call it good.
With coaches, find someone to replace Bennett and Nolan Pratt (anyone check in on Adam Foote – or is he still locked up in Vancouver). Let Nelson walk – promote EJ to "Player Development" Special Assistant for the AVS. I think Wood still has a home with the AVS – especially after a less-than-stellar year.
My "must resign" UFA's include KIVI – Lindgren – that's about it.
To Shaggy's comment at 28 min mark – about the "superteam" lack of success – one saying that I've heard and believed in for decades comes up – WILL beats SKILL in the NHL Playoffs.
see and this is what ppl dont get with the whole mikko thing even without him our cap hit is dicey, with him like we would of had to dump 5-6 players and nm makars extension coming up ,like where does a 8 year 12 million mikko contract fit with us ? maybe if the cap just went up to 114million next year right away we could of , but since they wanna be dicks and make it slowly go up this is where we were with his contract :/ ,i said like 3 years ago the cap should of went up too 100 million and just leave it there for 10 years and see how it works out . instead we have 3 years of an increase smh like why nhl why just bump it up now , best decision since the wild cards smh i diots making the calls
Thnx guys for a great show! 👍🏒
This loss hurt so bad I can’t even watch hockey right now. I tried watching the Eagles and just couldn’t stomach it.
I think I’m still mad but I don’t think I want to see C Mack come back as GM. He gambled and lost miserably and may have helped close the Avs cup window early. I think he needs to let Joe fix this mess and step away.
34:42 wtf couple of knickerbockers ??
After this exit, it dawned on me. The Avalanche are not a good team. They have not been a good team these past 8 years or so, and the 2022 Stanley Cup was a fluke, but it masked the ineptitude for some time. Every year everyone keeps saying "Oh, the Avalanche are such a great team", but it's bullshit. I don't care how many points they get in the regular season, or how many goals and points M&M score, because these things don't make a team great or even good. Because a good team with MacKinnon and Makar on it must be able to reach the conference finals every year, or at least exit after a hard-fought second round series. Good teams like Boston, Dallas, Vegas or Florida are able to perform in the playoffs, and that's what makes them good teams. The Avalanche never got cojones when it matters, and I'm never calling them a good team again until they prove that 2022 wasn't a fluke (just make it past the second round, for fuck's sake).
This was really a self-inflicted wound. Single handedly made by GM.
GM went nuts, dismantled the club. Actually wasted more money, but lost their best playmaker since Sacic himself.
How this all looks from an outsider? Avalance GM started doing the same thing what Toronto was famous for. Grabbing 4-6mil players and selling their draft picks. Only difference is, toronto kept their +10mil players.
This club has no first or second round picks left until 2028. It will be only downhill until 2030. Sorry.
Man I’m a Blues fan….. I absolutely feel you guys’ pain.
2 extremely painful game 7 losses
Coyle played liked shit against Dallas
Great show guys…
Well looking at some of the comments this was an interesting one.
I am no GM, i am just an AVS fan that was very sad to see her team out in the first round. But I just do not know where we go from here. We can make all the assumptions we want but at the end of the day its a business. This may be a sports team, but its a business. And since none of us are in the board room, well we can only deal with whatever decisions and moves the front office makes. And honestly, now we ALL should know how Bednar feels. He has to work with whatever roster they give him.
#teambednar ✊🏾✊🏾
Regarding Mikko. Less we forfet, we had him this year and he was VERY silent for a mountain of games.
I love that he turned it on when it would make him the superhero. So let that go. And i AGREE. TRADE VAL!!!…
We have got to reboot and rebuild.
AND BURN SAGE IN THE LOCKERROOM😂😂😂
