2021 Top 10 pick to add to there deep prospect pool they could get Aatu Raty if they get pick 1 Byfield – Raty – Turcotte – Vilardi 4 top future center's i would move Turcotte to the wing if they get Raty
You also forgot forwards like Fagemo (who led all players in scoring at the World Jr's) and Akil Thomas (who scored the tournament winning goals at the world Jr's). I also really like the D man we picked up this year Helge Grans. Additionally there are a bunch of D prospects that we don't even know how good they will be yet, like Mikey Anderson, Cole Hults, Sean Durzie and Kale Clauge. Finally, I disagree with you on Roy and Walker being AHL defensemen. These guys were fantastic in the NHL last year. Roy was a +16 on a team in second to last place for most of the year and Walker put up 24 pts in 70 games on a close to last place offence. The next two years will be interesting while we continue to develop prospects and Brown and Carter play out the final two years on their long term contracts. Finally, I don't think they will put Byfield on the wing as you showed in your lineup. The Kings won't rush this guy so my guess is he will play at the World Jr's this winter and the OHL. He might get a handful of games in the NHL but they won't blow a year of his ELC on this year. One more year of being bad, get a top 10 pick to get an impact D-man then we are set for the future.
GKG!
I'd say we still 2-3 years out till we can be contenders again but the future is bright in LA. Go Kings Go.
haloreach oneyplays to timpool
Pundits will laugh in my prediction, but Kings will do major damage during next season. The only weak and/or unproven is its defensive corp. Forwards are set and mixture of proven playoff vets and grade A first rounder. Goaltending is decent. Cal Petersen will take the reigns from Quick next season.
i don't see the kings putting byfield on wing because he is a center
Mataa will play in the 3rd pairing by midseason as Bjornfot takes DD's left side. Mickey D will become the 7th D.
The Kings aren't in caphell either. They have $13 million in capspace and no big raises for 3 years. Veteran contracts like Richards, Quick, Carter, Brown come off the books in the next 2 seasons right as raises come around for negotiations.
The Kings are in good shape.
As a Kings fan…. this potential 2020-21 lineup is still a bottom of the standings lineup. All the vets are a year older/slower, and the youth is not ready to have a huge impact yet. I expect a 24th-28th finish in the overall standings.
Walker and Roy have been solid, and if you look at our stats, we're a relatively good defensive team, we just have no major scoring. I also think we won the Tofoli trade since Vancouver couldn't resign him
