  1. Trois Rivieres finished 5th overall in the league and is 5-0 to start the playoffs. They are also having a great season.

  2. I wouldn't trade for Howard's rights. He's obviously a great prospect, but we have so many of those. We need veterans with some size, grit and playoff experience. The series against the Caps proved that.

  3. If he takes a considerable salary decrease, he could be very useful. There are always injuries and Armia when healthy is a awesome penalty killer. He can take some big shifts to protect the lead. A 2-3 year contract at about 2.5 would not hurt at all

  4. We don't need any more small players under 6 ft. , and we have enough US college boys on the team. We won't compete in this league for a cup unless we start getting bigger, heavier, faster, and tougher players asap. We have plenty of small players in our system already. Look around the league, all of the top level teams are bigger than we are and continue to get even bigger as the seasons go by. The right kind of players we need are available in Canada, and have grown up playing aggressive, tough hockey. Hughes, please stop looking south for the right players!

  5. Reinbacher looks good! He’ll be with the Habs at the beginning of the season! And Fowler, he’ll be with the Habs sooner than later.

  6. In my NHL 2025 Be A Pro season BOTH Lane Hudson & Sean Farrell are tied near the top of the leader board for the Calder Trophy…the future is looking bright even in the virtual world!!!

  7. Armia is excellent on the PK and if not resigned it will create a void for a certain time but, the young talent like Heineman, Kapanen Beck are in the pipeline and we should give these kids a place to affirm themselves in the NHL »

  8. Doubling down on a 31 year old who is on the down side is not someone who Hughes should be pursuing at this stage of the re-build.

  9. I'm still sticking with a unique Habs hat…with a story to tell.

But I am here to say this….your friendship with one another is incredible.

Not many people use each other's first names like you do.

Something that might be small to others…but for me that is just incredible!!!

Habs future is bright. Love what Laval is doing.

As always…love you banter and insight on our team!!!

    GHG guys!!!

Keep the content coming…I will watch everyday.

  10. The question is: is a 32 yr old Armia better than a 21 yr old Beck, or 21yr Roy etc. etc. Same question has to be answered for Dvorak, Gallagher, Pezzetta etc.etc. If Dvorak , for example is still better than these young prospects, you keep him, I suppose. But ultimately, the Habs need to make room for many of these young prospects, sooner than later…But in a meritocracy, these young prospects need to beat out these veterans fair and square..

  11. My Silly Habs Plan (2025 Off-Season)

    Forwards:
    – Caufield – Suzuki – Slafkovsky
    – Laine – Lundell – Demidov
    – Anderson – Danault – Gallagher

    Defenceman:
    – Hutson – Reinbacher

    – Struble – Rutta
    17m (about)

    Goalies:
    – Montembault
    – Dobes
    4.75m

    Salary Retention and Overages:
    4.25m about

    – Armia (3 x 1.85m)
    – Heineman (2 x 1.35m)

    – Michael Benning
    – Panthers 5th 2027

    Montreal Canadiens send:
    – Alex Newhook
    – Logan Mailloux
    – Owen Beck
    – Calgary 1st 2025
    – Montreal 1st 2025
    – Columbus 2nd 2026

(Please realize I know this likely won’t happen. Fun thinking for me. Enjoy!)

  12. The need is for an established centre. Any assets need to be deployed to buy one. We will need to over pay as any GM worth his salt knows this

  13. If Armia is to return, it would be as a 13th forward. Sign him to a 1 year extension, 1 mil or less, and he has to be ok with not being in the lineup every night.

    Caufield-Suzuki-Slafkovsky
    Demidov-2C-Laine
    Newhook-Dach-Anderson
    Heineman-Evans-Gallagher
    Armia-Veteran Depth C as extras

I think Kapanen needs a season in Laval, if he isn’t apart of the package to acquire the 2C.

  14. I remember Howard being interviewed at the draft and he said he was the best looking guy there.. I also remember thinking, OMG what a fat head on that guy! Now he doesn't want to play for the team (A good team BTW) who drafted him. I don't know if he fits the Canadiens "team first" attitude. That's I feel about the situation but who really knows what he's thinking. That's already 2 red flags for me though.

  15. Something has to give with the Habs, because we have yoo many talented young guys coming up. We need to make space for Beck, Florian (in my opinion hes ready) , Reinbacher, and Mailloux. Not to mention Demidov full time and Dach returning. Therea just not enough room on the team to bring up young talent and keep mid level veterans.

  16. Howard ? Nah , Habs were out muscled very recently as they are too small ….They need to Build Back Bigger & Better

  17. Another note, my gut tells me Kapanen will get traded in a deal for a second line Center this summer. I don't see him fit in the top 6 next season or in the bottom 6. I like Kapanen and all but it's easier to get a second line center with giving someone in return and Kapanen has value.

  18. At 5' 11" I'm not interested we need big forwards we already have too many smurfs, yes they're good players but we just have too many and we seen what happened in the playoffs against a bigger physical team. We shouldn't look at anyone under 6' 2" and who isn't from North America, we need grit and most Europeans don't play a hard physical game.

  19. So, another sub 200 lbs. player. Thankfully, the NHL is going to allow Montreal to carry 3 extra players on the roster. Gotta get team size up, right.

  20. Isaac Howard… Just no… Notwithstanding possible "character" issues this refusal points to, we don't need another talented under-6 foot winger… Washington series proves we need to had some significant height and weight…

  21. Gallagher needs to retire… he spent more time on his ass than on his feet against the Capitals
